Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

This career is purposeful. I love meeting new people and building trustworthy, lifetime relationships. One's financial well-being is just as important as their overall physical and mental well-being. I am my client's and their loved one's "person" in many aspects of their life, throughout their life.

I serve members in…

Iowa and Illinois.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

people who are serious about being confident and secure with their financial plan.

I attended…

St. Ambrose University. I have a bachelor's degree in management and marketing.

I am very proud of…

my family, my faith, my friendships, and my decade-long career with Modern Woodmen. I was featured on an internal magazine for the impact I make in my members’ lives and in their communities.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a college graduate, interning in London. I'm fortunate because Modern Woodmen was my first job after college. Modern Woodmen is my career home.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

it's not only the best financial organization ... it's the best organization to be part of. Period.

The best part of my career is…

the privilege to meet new people every day and be of service in some way, shape or form. I love educating people about life insurance and financial planning while also creating space in my heart to be there for them beyond my role as their financial representative.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

members or people in the community thank me for being me and doing what I do.

Also…

I work among a wonderful group of intelligent, like-minded financial professionals. If there's anything our community needs, we are here for them!

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, our two boys, a fluffy Australian shepherd and farm cat turned house cat.

In my free time, you can find me…

running or walking on the Duck Creek bike path, listening to podcasts, checking out new local spots with my girlfriends or spending quality time with my mom.

I’m passionate about…

honesty, helping and championing others, continuous learning, raising awareness for causes I care about, and being a good wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. I am also passionate about my faith and Jesus Christ.

My greatest blessing is…

my faith, my family, and my family members’ health and able bodies.

My personal motto is…

Live it up! Dance, sing, laugh, have fun, eat delicious food, smile and give hugs.

My hidden talent is…

I love music! I used to play piano and flute.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life!

What I like best about my community is…

it's where the people I care most about live.

I’m a member of…

Power of 100+ Women Group in the QCA (I proudly serve as a board member) and a great BNI group.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

not only helping those in need but also helping people who work for organizations focused on giving back day-in and day-out. I love lending a helping hand. Each volunteer opportunity is a blessing.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

service projects. It's very rewarding to donate not only something tangible and important to local organizations but also donate my time.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

helping a local diaper bank, Hiney Heroes, collect over 25,000 diapers for local babies. I am SO impressed with how many members, friends and family members came together for this service project!

“20 years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do then by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
