How we make a difference

We feel it’s important to support the communities we serve because…

as community leaders, we believe it’s our responsibility.

We feel strongly about supporting our communities at a local level. One way we're able to make a positive impact is through Modern Woodmen activities and programs. We especially enjoy:

answering the call for our local nonprofit organizations and community leaders, working with our education foundations and classroom teachers, supporting our first responders and military, and recognizing the unsung heroes who work to make central and southern Indiana a more enjoyable place for families to thrive.

Current insights

“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.” They shape culture. They set direction. They give people permission to think bigger and act bolder. That’s why teachers aren’t just important — they’re foundational. The words spoken in classrooms every day — the encouragement, the patience, the belief, the unconditional love — don’t just teach lessons. They shape confidence. They spark curiosity. They quietly influence who a child becomes. Seeing the teachers who care for and educate my kids, alongside a school leader who has poured into generations of families, is a reminder of just how powerful that work is. Decades of impact. Countless lives shaped. All through consistency, care, and the right words at the right moments. Never underestimate the power of what you say, or the ideas you stand behind. They last longer than you think. Be Curious. Be Confident. Be Competitive. Be Kind. #UnapologeticallyFraternal Much Love & Cheers. #Motivation #Leadership #Resilience #GrowthMindset #BeCuriousBeConfidentBeCompetitiveBeKind

Strong teams don’t run from hard work. They lean into it — together. The difference is perspective. With clarity, trust, and shared purpose, challenges stop feeling like weight and start feeling like forward motion. The work is still demanding — but it’s no longer draining. I was reminded of that recently over coffee with Joe Morris. Not through a lesson on leadership, but through wisdom earned over time: “This should be an adventure, not an ordeal.” That line stuck with me. Because hard seasons don’t disappear, but how we walk through them matters. When people feel aligned and supported — the journey is shared and rooted in something meaningful — even the toughest work can shape us instead of wear us down. Hard? Yes. Demanding? Absolutely. But meaningful. Shared. Worth it. Be Curious. Be Confident. Be Competitive. Be Kind. #UnapologeticallyFraternal Much Love & Cheers, Joe! #Motivation #Leadership #Resilience #GrowthMindset #BeCuriousBeConfidentBeCompetitiveBeKind

“A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor.” The hard seasons are the training ground. Turbulence builds judgment. Pressure sharpens decision-making. Resistance forces growth. If everything feels difficult right now, that’s not a red flag, it’s a development phase. Skills are forged in the chop, not the calm. Stay in it. You’re getting better. Be Curious. Be Confident. Be Competitive. Be Kind. #UnapologeticallyFraternal Much Love & Cheers. #Motivation #Leadership #Resilience #GrowthMindset #BeCuriousBeConfidentBeCompetitiveBeKind

Growth like this doesn’t happen by accident. Shoutout to Collin Bopp for an incredible accomplishment — being featured in Modern Woodmen’s Trailblazer magazine and earning 3rd place in new members is a clear reflection of his consistency, discipline, and commitment to serving others. In a fraternal organization, growth isn’t just a number — it’s a measure of trust. Every new member represents another family choosing shared values, shared purpose, and a commitment to strengthening the community they call home. Collin’s work does exactly that. By bringing people into something bigger than themselves, he’s helping expand the reach of our impact and elevate the standard for what it means to lead with intention. We’re proud to have leaders like Collin on this team — leaders who don’t chase attention but earn it through action. This is what being unapologetically fraternal looks like — building financial security in a way that strengthens communities, not just accounts. Be Curious. Be Confident. Be Competitive. Be Kind. #UnapologeticallyFraternal Much Love & Cheers. #ModernWoodmenofAmerica #TeamMWA #MWACareers #CelebratingSuccess #Congratulations #NextLevel #GrowthMindset #ThisIsMWA #ThisIsUsMWA
