How we make a difference

We feel it’s important to support the communities we serve because…

as community leaders, we believe it’s our responsibility.

We feel strongly about supporting our communities at a local level. One way we're able to make a positive impact is through Modern Woodmen activities and programs. We especially enjoy:

answering the call for our local nonprofit organizations and community leaders, working with our education foundations and classroom teachers, supporting our first responders and military, and recognizing the unsung heroes who work to make central and southern Indiana a more enjoyable place for families to thrive.

“I’m a realist. Where I come from, ‘phenomenons’ don’t exist. I’m from a land where people make mistakes and try again - harder, faster. Where negativity is not an option.” This mindset isn’t about perfection - it’s about persistence. It’s about refusing to let circumstances decide how far you go. Because the truth is, no one’s born great at this. At finance. At life. No one wakes up with all the answers, flawless execution, or an easy path. The difference between people who talk about doing something and the ones who actually do it? They don’t wait for ideal conditions. They fail. They learn. They adapt. Over and over again. They keep moving. That’s where real growth happens - not in talent, but in tenacity. Be Curious. Be Confident. Be Competitive. Save the Date - December 13, 2025 Modern Woodmen of America will be participating in Wreaths Across America in Indianapolis at Crown Hill National Cemetery, honoring our nation’s veterans by placing wreaths on their graves. Along with our members, family and friends, we are proud to take part in this nationwide effort to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the value of freedom to the next generation. Today and every day, we honor our heroes. To the brave men and women who have served — and to those who continue to serve — we thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to protecting our freedom. We have so many veterans in our organization - in the home office and out in the field. We’re especially proud of our teammates Sydney Archuleta, who continues to serve, and Dustin Robbins, who has served with honor. In a country that most days seems so divided, you hold us together. Your dedication and leadership inspire us all. Your service reminds us that protecting what matters most isn’t just a profession — — it’s a purpose. 🇺🇸 With gratitude and respect, we thank you. The ability to lead doesn’t come from a title. Sure - a title may help. But from my experience, the folks willing to step up who are not in a position of authority may have more influence, albeit maybe even more relevant information to share. Over the last few months, we’ve heard from some of the best. They’ve flown or drove in from across the country to share their story and, of course, a few best practices. For the month of October, we had the opportunity to hear a story of failure and triumph; a story from a financial professional, who chose to become something more to his family, his clients, his community, and now his company. He was direct and inspiring. THANK YOU, Austin Beneteau, for flying across this beautiful country to pour into our team last week. We are all better off for having you here to tell your tale and fortunate to have you as a leader within our organization. We greatly appreciate you for raising the bar and reminding us of what “next level” really looks like. It’s not every day you get to learn from someone who’s built success the right way - through people, purpose, and an unbreakable will. Be Curious. Be Confident. Be Competitive.
