Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others as well as their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Missouri and Kansas,

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance and annuities.

I enjoy working with…

small-business owners, families, and individuals regarding life insurance, fixed annuities, and retirement planning. I also enjoy working with those approaching retirement.

I attended…

Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

taught in the public and private school systems for 10 plus years.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization - not only for how it supports members to help them reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members. Whether it's planning for their retirement or protecting their families with life insurance, I feel good knowing I helped make a positive impact on their lives..

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I understood just how important the plans I help with are. Sometimes it can be very complicated for individuals who are just coming into their retirement year. As a financial representative, I am able to assist my clients through the complexities of the different plan options that are available to them, and I can help them make the best choices for their particular needs.

Also…

I will always personally be available for my clients, and their families to provide help or answer any questions about their current and future needs.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

My husband, Maurice, our daughter, Bethany, and our son, Matthew.

In my free time, you can find me…

In nature. My husband and I love walking on trails, going on long drives, and anything outdoors!

I’m passionate about…

my faith, family and friends. I am also excited about life and what each new day has in store!

My greatest blessing is…

my husband, Buddy (Maurice). We have known each other since we were children, and he was my high school sweetheart. Buddy is the love of my life.

My personal motto is…

Try, try, try again -- never quit, never give up. Always forgive, always love, and always hope.

My hidden talent is…

my ability to cook fun, yummy meals for large gatherings of family and friends on short notice.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life. I have visited other places and lived elsewhere for a bit, but there is no place like home.

What I like best about my community is…

the amazing people! This is home. I never meet a stranger for sure!!! The people in our town love to help each other and give back to make this community great.

I’m a member of…

and founder of CEC, Christian Educational Cooperative. It's a nonprofit organization that helps educate and improve the lives of children in at-risk communities, private school startups, and home-school settings.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

working with children to help them to gain understanding in subject areas they may struggle with. I love to see the "light" come on.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

the Hometown Hero dinners are my favorite way we celebrate people who have made an impact.
