Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I chose this career because it’s all about helping others. I help my members plan for a secure financial future.

I attended…

Kent State University (M.Ed., School Counseling) and The Ohio State University (B.A.).

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

served as an academic advisor for health sciences students at a small community college.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization - not only for how it supports members to reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

“Modern Woodmen membership is about relationships. We take time to get to know you and your needs. Get to know me and how we might connect.”

My life outside of work

In my free time, you can find me…

traveling, riding my ATVs, driving my convertible or attending local events.

My personal motto is…

The only thing we have to fear is... Fear itself! - President Franklin D. Roosevelt

My hidden talent is…

doing impressions!

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

I have lived in Ohio my entire life.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapters.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

the first time I attended a chapter event at a local farmers market. I was impressed by the sense of community and common cause of service to others.

It's 30 days until Tax Day. Are you prepared? This is a great time to review what you’re saving in your IRA. Let’s meet to discuss your retirement goals.

Ready to declutter your finances? Here are five tips to spring clean your budget. 1. Conduct your own expense audit. Go through the last one to three months of expenses and locate potential wasteful spending. 2. Cancel or reduce subscriptions. Ask yourself if there are any you can downgrade. 3. Set spending caps. Set limits on a few categories – like eating out, shopping or coffee runs – to remain flexible. 4. Map out irregular expenses. Put money aside for things like car repairs, gifts, home maintenance and travel to prepare for the future. 5. Set one budget goal per month. Examples include reducing food delivery by $80, paying off a bill or building an emergency cushion.

Myth: Budgeting means restricting yourself. Fact: A good budget can mean permission to spend intentionally. It shows where your money is going, so you can prioritize.

Don't leave your finances to luck. I can help you develop a personalized plan. Let's talk.
