Why I do what I do
Why I do what I do
I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others as well as their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.
I serve members in…
central Arkansas -- Little Rock, North Little Rock, Cabot, Jacksonville, Sherwood, Clinton and Lonoke.
I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…
life insurance and annuities.
I enjoy working with…
families, those approaching and in retirement and small-business owners.
I attended…
the school of life, with a lifetime of experience in the financial field. I have attended many advanced training schools to keep up to date on our ever-changing financial world and obtained the Fraternal Insurance Counselor designation (FICF) I wear after my name.
I am very proud of…
being the senior managing partner in Arkansas, having trained and led a very successful district; earning Managing Partner Round Table status 13 years, Inner Circle level in 7 of those years; being an FICF; serving as president of the Arkansas Fraternal Alliance; and being a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, serving on their state board. In my career, I've also been named Fraternalist of the Year and in 2015, I was awarded he Arkansas Award for our region.
Before Modern Woodmen, I…
did many things. On June 27, 1969, I married my soulmate and best friend, Donna. We had two sons and a daughter, and we now have four granddaughters. I'm a Vietnam-era vet, and was a Texaco retailer and a certified mechanic. I was also a contractor for a company called the Arkansas Hogwash. I was successful in all, but was glad I found Modern Woodmen when I was 40 years old -- best career decision I ever made.
I chose Modern Woodmen because…
I believe in the organization - not only for how it supports members to help them reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.
The best part of my career is…
helping my members achieve their dreams and goals in life. Whether it's planning for their retirement or protecting their families with life insurance. I feel good knowing I helped make a positive impact on their lives.
A favorite moment in my career was when…
I understood just how important the financial plans I offer are. Even though I have delivered many death claims, all are important, one stands out. After 9/11, a member enlisted and went to Iraq and died a hero, leaving his wife and daughter. Even though he had his military insurance, he had planned with me earlier, and since we had no war clause on that certificate, I was able to deliver one of the first death claims in Arkansas due to that war, to a family he loved and provided for.
