Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I chose this career because I want to empower people to make better financial decisions. I believe there is hope for their future.

I serve members in…

Dallas, Texas, and I serve some in Orange County, California.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

all people!

I attended…

Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

I am very proud of…

being part of something so much bigger than myself. Here at Modern Woodmen, we genuinely help people, and we do it because we truly believe that we exist to serve people.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was coaching rowing full time, and before that I was a Division I student athlete at SMU.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe I can make lasting impact on current and future generations through proper planning and healthy conversations about finances.

The best part of my career is…

the people. Seriously! I love my clients. They are incredible people. I am better because of them.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I realized what I do actually matters. It can easily feel like the work I am doing is intangible. But when I meet with a client year after year and they can tell me the progress they have made simply by my presence in their life, it is really rewarding.

Also…

thank you for checking out my page! I hope I get to connect with you in the future!

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my twin sister, my older sister, my parents and my wiener dog, Aubrie.

In my free time, you can find me…

serving with my church family, rowing, running or hanging with friends! I also love to listen to leadership podcasts and good music.

I’m passionate about…

building the local church. I love the church, it has changed my life completely. I also love raising up the next generation. Mentoring is my greatest honor.

My greatest blessing is…

my church home and my love for people. I think I would have a pretty boring life if I didn't love people and their stories.

My personal motto is…

where is the coffee?

My hidden talent is…

that I rollerblade.

Community impact

In the community

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for eight years!

What I like best about my community is…

the people. I actually stayed in Dallas because of the people I met, who became family to me.

I’m a member of…

Shoreline City Church.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

anything at Shoreline City Church.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when we painted Bush Elementary. It was awesome to see the whole project come together!

Back in the day, members used unique ways to express the need to prepare for the unexpected. Goggles (called "hoodwinks") were sometimes worn by a new member as part of an initiation ritual. Pins (push buttons) on the goggles changed the color seen through eyepieces from black to red, open and closed. This prop showed that things change throughout your life. #ThrowbackThursday
