Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Kansas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Nebraska, Iowa and Kentucky.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, business owners, and those approaching retirement.

I attended…

the University of Kansas (BGS in psychology and criminology) and Tiffin University (MSCJ).

I am very proud of…

becoming a successful business owner by supporting the very same community in which I grew up.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked in various aspects of financial services and insurance, from brokerage back office to banking, lending, and home and auto insurance.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I wanted to work for an organization that gave me the opportunity to give back to my community, not shareholders. I love the fraternalism that exists as part of our everyday operations!

The best part of my career is…

helping my members reach their goals and overcome obstacles in their lives.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I made the decision to take the jump and start my own practice. I wish I had found Modern Woodmen years ago!

“My personal motto is: Whatever you put out into the world is what you will receive back, so always do your best for the sake of others.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Chris; our children, Bryan, Phoenix, Gabe and Sage; and our grandsons, Mason and Grayson.

In my free time, you can find me…

spending time with our kids and their various activities or playing with the grandbabies!

I’m passionate about…

helping others. When I'm not helping others at work, I'm involved in various volunteer organizations and groups.

My greatest blessing is…

my family. I am very close to not only my own children, but also my mother, father and sisters.

My personal motto is…

whatever you put out into the world is what you will receive back, so always do your best for the sake of others.

My hidden talent is…

cooking! When I'm able to experiment in the kitchen, it's almost like therapy!

Community impact

In the community

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life, except during college when I was in San Diego.

What I like best about my community is…

the people. When my family has gone through trying times, the people in this community have always stepped up to help carry the burden and let us know we are loved.

I’m a member of…

Community in Schools Board and Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

anything where I can make a difference for the kids in our community.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

being able to help make up funding losses for Hope House through a Matching Fund pancake feed.

Myth: You don't need an emergency fund if you have credit cards. Fact: Relying on credit cards for emergencies can lead to high-interest debt. An emergency fund provides a financial cushion without the added burden of interest payments.
