On Saturday, our Modern Woodmen Region gifted $10,000 to Sleep In Heavenly Peace and volunteered for 3.5 hours to build 40 beds. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building and delivering handmade beds to children in need. Their mission is that no child should have to sleep on the floor, providing beds, mattresses, bedding, and pillows to children and families who otherwise could not afford them. Yet another reason I am blessed to work for an organization that gives not only money but also time to help enhance the communities our members live in. This member-exclusive program supports learners at every stage, with awards for both high school seniors and members 21 and up. This year, we awarded $622,000 in scholarships to help our members achieve their educational goals.
