Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I’m passionate about helping my members determine their financial goals. We work together to help create a plan based on their unique needs.

I serve members in…

Kansas.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

my clients by building relationships and a partnership of working together using all the tools available to achieve their dreams and goals.

I attended…

Truman University in Kirksville, Missouri, where I earned my bachelor's degree in business administration.

I am very proud of…

my achievements: earning my Fraternal Insurance Counselor (FIC) designation in 2011, achieving various production awards, successfully securing my Series 7 and Series 63 securities licensure in 2011, and completing the Financial Services Forum certification in 2012. I am active in the community with educational programs in the area schools and serve as the activities coordinator for four member chapters.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a member of the Wichita banking community for 23 years. There I began my service as a loan teller and advanced my career to vice president/bank operations manager. I also served several years as the president for American Institute of Banking.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of the difference it can make in the lives of our members and their families. We work together, in partnership, to help members reach their financial goals and in the process find ways to support the local community. This allows me the opportunity to pay it forward.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members achieve their life and retirement dreams. It is good to know that I can make a positive difference in the lives of families as they grow and mature. It allows them to focus on the more important things in life ... relationships.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I could see the planning and dreams of a member come true, even though it was a difficult time for the family in dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Also…

another special moment is when, through our Matching Fund Program, we helped a young family with medical bills and provided food and clothing during the Christmas season for those in need.

“My personal motto is Hebrews 3:13, " ... encourage one another daily ... "”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Sherry, and my two daughters and their husbands, Kiley/Andrew and Kambry/Jeremy.

In my free time, you can find me…

working on home projects, tinkering with cars, and paying it forward by helping and serving others.

I’m passionate about…

my family and my relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

My greatest blessing is…

my beautiful and devoted wife.

My personal motto is…

Hebrews 3:13, " ... encourage one another daily ... "

My hidden talent is…

I enjoy water and snow sports.

Also…

all types of outdoor activities.

Community impact

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for the past 33 years.

What I like best about my community is…

it is home. Wichita is a great place to raise a family and meet awesome lifelong friends.

I’m a member of…

West Evangelical Free Church, and I help with the Red Cross Blood Donation Center.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

helping someone when they least expect it.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

helping a young family, financially, as their life journey took them on the road to cancer recovery and treatment discovery.

Also…

youth educational programs make an important impact on our community. They support our local teachers as they bring excellent educational opportunities to our children and help build positive, bright futures.
