Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I chose this career because I genuinely enjoy helping people. I love sitting down with someone, learning what matters most to them, and helping them through the financial obstacles that may stand between where they are today and where they want to be. There's something incredibly rewarding about watching clients make progress toward goals that are important to them and knowing I played a role in their journey.

I serve members in…

East Tennessee.

I enjoy working with…

young families building their financial foundations, people approaching retirement, and small-business owners who want to make the most of what they've worked hard to build.

I attended…

Powell High School, where I played baseball and basketball. I continued playing baseball at Walters State Community College, earning my associate degree in 2023. Then I transferred to Carson-Newman University to continue my academic and baseball career. I earned my Bachelor of Science in business administration in 2025 and my MBA in 2026.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

interned with Modern Woodmen while in college before pursuing a career in construction project management. I enjoyed that experience and learned a lot, but I ultimately realized I wanted a career centered more around building relationships and helping people. That brought me back to Modern Woodmen, where I'm excited to build my career.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of the opportunity to build a career centered around relationships, service, and making a difference in the community. I also really connected with the fraternal side of the organization and the opportunity to give back to the community.

The best part of my career is…

watching people move toward the lives they want to live. I enjoy

being someone they can turn to when they need guidance. Building relationships with my clients and celebrating their progress with them is what makes this career so rewarding.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wonderful wife, Sarah, and our golden retriever puppy, June, who keeps us busy and entertained!

In my free time, you can find me…

spending time with my wife, traveling, snowboarding, golfing, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, cheering on Tennessee football, or watching Marvel and Harry Potter with a cup of coffee.

I’m passionate about…

my family and friends, being a good person to others, and making a positive impact on the people around me.

My greatest blessing is…

my wife, who has been by my side through it all, and my family, who have always supported my brother and me and made countless sacrifices to help us become the people we are today.

My personal motto is…

Be your best. Do what is right. Golden Rule.

My hidden talent is…

being weirdly good at a lot of things. I like trying just about anything, and my competitive side won't let me quit until I'm good at it.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

I grew up in Powell and have called it home my entire life. My wife and I recently moved to Johnson City, where she is attending ETSU's Quillen College of Medicine. While we're excited to plant roots and become more involved in the Johnson City community, I'm grateful to continue cherish the relationships and connections that make Powell home.

What I like best about my community is…

What I love most about both Powell and Johnson City is the people. I've grown up surrounded by family, friends, and people who are always willing to lend a helping hand. Since moving to Johnson City, we've experienced that same welcoming spirit and have been grateful for how willing people have been to share their knowledge and help us get connected.

I’m a member of…

Powell Business & Professionals Association, Johnson City Young Professionals, and the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce

My favorite volunteer activities are…

I especially enjoy giving back through school-supply drives and spending time with the Boys & Girls Club. I also enjoy our coffee house socials, where I get to spend time with members, give back to the community, and build genuine relationships.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

service projects and chapter socials. I enjoy service projects because I contribute resources and my time to organizations that make a difference locally. I also enjoy chapter socials because they give me the opportunity to spend time with our members, connect outside the office and build genuine relationships.
