Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

After retiring from the wholesale insurance industry, I have found that being a financial representative provides me with an opportunity to help others achieve their financial dreams. It is an amazing feeling to be debt-free, but it is just as liberating to know you can live life without fear of loss by securing the future of those you love. I love sitting down with families and developing a retirement plan that fits their lifestyle, financial goals and retirement dreams.

I serve members in…

Mason and the mid-Michigan area.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, service members, business owners, young individuals, those who are interested in planning for retirement, and retirees.

I attended…

Mason High School, Florida Atlantic University and Spring Arbor University.

I am very proud of…

my family and faith. A heritage of faith has given me the courage to fight cancer, conquer death and face many obstacles during my life. My husband of 35 years has been my partner in ministry. Together we have served in our local church, Connect Sports, and the ROC Learning Center, as well as many other ministries.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

had 35 years in corporate law, finance, and partnered in a leading wholesale insurance brokerage firm. After a successful career, I retired and was looking for a way to give back through financial education and community development. Helping young families grow is one of my ways of finding purpose and promoting a prosperous future for those families.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

Modern Woodmen shares the same pioneer spirit and community closeness that I have known growing up here in Mason, Michigan.

The best part of my career is…

utilizing knowledge and financial services to build a comprehensive retirement plan for members. It's amazing how much information and opportunity is out there for savings, retirement and protection, and most Americans aren't even aware of it.

Also…

I wish I would have known about Modern Woodmen of America when I started my financial career. While I have loved developing corporate America, there is nothing more rewarding than helping the individuals that are woven in the fabric of our country and community to share in the comforts that are created by living the American dream. Even if you live on a modest budget, a financial professional can provide knowledge and expertise to help guide you to the retirement you've always wanted.

“I serve members in Mason and the mid-Michigan area.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband and two golden doodles.

In my free time, you can find me…

coaching or organizing flag football, archery, basketball or co-ed volleyball at the Recreational Outreach Center, “the ROC.” I also love to split wood with my dad and sit on the porch swing on summer nights listening to the frogs, crickets and my dad telling stories of years gone by.

I’m passionate about…

my faith and my family.

My greatest blessing is…

my family.

My personal motto is…

Soli Deo Gloria!

My hidden talent is…

my drive to see others succeed.

Also…

I am a hometown girl with a hometown faith. I love giving back to the town that raised me.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for many years and proud to serve the town that raised me.

What I like best about my community is…

it's made up of tough, blue-collar, hardworking families that grew up around factories and farms. Neighbors still help neighbors and faith isn’t for the weak, it’s found in the strongest men and women I know. They stand the tallest when they are on their knees in prayer and loudest when silent with gentle hearts of courage and conviction.

I’m a member of…

my local church and I am the ROC director and charter member of Connect Sports.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Donating educational programs.

A hometown with a heart

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic our community of Mason, Michigan, remained hopeful and strong. Through numerous acts of generosity, we drew closer through adversity. While we could not meet with our loved ones and families, we protected their financial futures through Zoom and phone calls, securing families and protecting their futures. Together we overcame a pandemic that threatened our existence. Like a woodman who builds shelter for his family, we stood small-town strong. Fraternal faith filled our hearts, even when the days grew long. We have stood strong for over 135 years, and we will continue to celebrate life and wipe away tears.
