Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to make a living helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to do what I do, and every day is different. As a fraternal financial services organization, we're built for our members, not for stockholders. Our members enjoy social, educational and volunteer activities.

I serve members in…

Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington, Colorado, Texas and California.

I enjoy working with…

young families and young adults just starting to set financial goals, small-business owners who are planning and implementing employee benefits, and people of all ages who are planning for retirement.

I attended…

Augustana College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing. I'm very proud of being a four-time, letter-winner on the Augustana football team and captain my senior year. I was also on the dean's list three out of my four years.

I am very proud of…

qualifying for Modern Woodmen's sales conference the past three years and becoming a member of the Million Dollar Round Table in 2023.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

attended Bettendorf High School and Augustana College.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in what the organization does. Not only does it help members feel financially secure, but it also gives back to communities. This greater purpose separates Modern Woodmen from other financial organizations.

The best part of my career is…

helping members feel financially secure. There's no greater stress than worrying about finances. When our members feel secure, it makes my job worthwhile.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I created a succession plan for a family-owned business. Succession planning ensures a business can easily pass to the next generation. We created a detailed plan for the owner's two sons to take over the business from their father when the time was right.

“I serve members in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington, Colorado, Texas and California.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my parents, Robert and Melanie Wolfe, and my four siblings, Rhesa, Sophronia, Campbell and Adelaide.

In my free time, you can find me…

on the golf course, working out at the local YMCA, or fishing with my dad and friends.

I’m passionate about…

my job, my family, my friends, Chicago Sports teams and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

My greatest blessing is…

my family and my health.

My personal motto is…

outwork the hardest worker.

My hidden talent is…

cooking. I love spending my free time in the kitchen.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for a year. I was born and raised in Bettendorf, Iowa. I went to college across the river in Rock Island, Illinois. I lived in Bettendorf for three and a half years before moving to Madison.

What I like best about my community is…

how tightknit it is. I have friendships that will last a lifetime, and I can rely on many people.

I’m a member of…

Asbury Methodist Church, Middleton Chamber of Commerce, QC Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees of the Quad Cities, Madison Magnet, Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce, MESBA, and Wisconsin Veterans Chamber.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

sharing and presenting MoneyMasters programs to local schools. I also enjoy helping local nonprofits and other organizations through our fraternal programs.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

presenting Hometown Hero awards every year. The award recognizes people who have gone above and beyond in serving their community. The recipient chooses a nonprofit and Modern Woodmen makes a donation on their behalf.

Great Lakes Challenge for Project Hero

This year, I did a Matching Fund project to raise money for the Great Lakes Challenge. The event for Project Hero, a nonprofit that helps first responders and veterans deal with post-traumatic stress disorder, invited them to ride bikes from the Twin Cities to Madison to raise awareness and money.

Life insurance for kids: It's not morbid, it's mindful. As a parent, life insurance may not be the most fun present you'll ever give your kids. But it's a building block that may benefit them longer than those stray Lego bricks you step on in the middle of the night. Let's talk.
