Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I relate to people who have specific milestones they want to reach in their lifetime. Owning their dream home, having the financial resources needed to help their children thrive, regularly vacationing to their favorite places, treating every day like a Saturday in retirement, and other life goals. I enjoy helping them map out how they can achieve all their financial desires, by providing my ongoing, hands-on support until they get there.

I serve members in…

the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County in Southern California, but Zoom has allowed me to work with members throughout the state.

I enjoy working with…

parents, k-12 educators, and individuals who work in healthcare. People in these groups often spend so much of their free time taking care of and bonding with their families, planning ways to provide new resources for their students, and staying up-to-date with medical advances, that they don't have much time left to plan for the financial future they want.

I attended…

Chaffey Community College, Southern Utah University, and California State University, San Bernardino. I received my bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration on finance.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

played competitive soccer for over 10 years. Being a goalkeeper gave me the clearest view of the field. I also had the responsibility to understand what every position was supposed to do, what the capabilities of my teammates and the opposing players were, and how to communicate my insight so that I could help my teammates win. My role in financial planning feels similar, but with a different game and strategies.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of the culture and structure of the organization.

The best part of my career is…

the people I get to build relationships with along the way.

My life outside of work

In my free time, you can find me…

listening to podcasts and financial news, exercising, spending time with my people, trying different foods, playing something fun and competitive, exploring Los Angeles, and doing research.

I’m passionate about…

"emptying my bucket". Regardless of when I leave this earth, I want to do so knowing that I put everything towards earning the life that I wanted for myself and the people I love.

Community impact

In the community

My local community impact

I’m a member of…

the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors for Paws4Success in Chino Hills.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

anything involving Paws4Success!

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

our service projects and MoneyMasters workshops! I have a lot of fun thinking of new ways to collaborate with members to do something beneficial for my community. MoneyMasters is also something I would have benefitted from before graduating high school, and I love that we can provide such relevant financial education to children at no cost for students.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

a paint night that I did with members. I went into it confident that we would have a great night, but I did not anticipate the members making it extra special for the two employees who guided our session. They said that they were some of the friendliest customers they had ever served and showed me how events like these build a sense of community.
