Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I have a passion to help those in my community (individuals, families and small businesses) with their retirement needs and life insurance. I very much enjoy working with small businesses to help them create retirement plans and life insurance programs for their employees and ownership.

I serve members in…

Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families and small-business owners to help them shed light on their needs for retirement and financial protection for their businesses and families.

I attended…

East Tennessee State University and graduated with a degree in business administration.

I am very proud of…

being a representative with Modern Woodmen, because it allows me to provide my community with the right kind of financial tools and products that fit people's different goals and lifestyles.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a representative with UniFirst Corporation and retired after 20 years of service

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization -- not only for how it supports families and small businesses to help them reach their financial goals and gain peace of mind, but also for the way it supports the community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members, families and small-business owners gain knowledge about retirement and protecting their family's interests with life insurance.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I was helping an organization that does after-school and summertime programs through a community project that impacted the lives of many local children. I saw that something small can mean so much.

“The best part of my career is helping my members, families and small-business owners gain knowledge about retirement and protecting their family's interests with life insurance.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Leslie, and my three sons, Cory, Logan and Blake.

In my free time, you can find me…

fishing or at my sons' ballgames, either helping coach, keeping score or on the sidelines supporting them.

I’m passionate about…

fishing. I take a variety of people, and in recent years I've enjoyed watching others catch fish more than if I reeled them in myself.

My greatest blessing is…

my health and family.

My personal motto is…

Treat others how you would like to be treated

My hidden talent is…

I love to cook and make great spaghetti, chili and fish.

Community impact

In the community

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life!

What I like best about my community is…

the amazing people and the many outdoor opportunities.

I’m a member of…

Outdoorsmen, Stripers Unlimited, Piney Flats United Methodist Church and the Boone Lake Association.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

working with various outdoor organizations and helping them with fundraising, and helping kids with various sporting activities.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when we raised over $10,000 to help a group buy over 100 children (from families in need) much-appreciated Christmas gifts.

Also…

I enjoy doing numerous service projects that help schools, sports teams, and local charities and organizations.
