Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Northwest Ohio.

I enjoy working with…

families, those approaching retirement and small-business owners.

I attended…

Otsego High School and Davis Business College.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a retail buyer for 32 years.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I love their big heart! This organization not only helps members reach their financial goals, but also supports my communities and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members. Whether it's planning for their retirement or protecting their families with life insurance, I feel good knowing I helped make a positive impact on their lives.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Eric, my daughter, Gretchen, and my grandson, Aiden.

In my free time, you can find me…

gardening, baking, or on the sidelines at the soccer field, cheering on my grandson.

I’m passionate about…

my family, my friends, my church and my Michigan Wolverines!

My greatest blessing is…

still having my 95-year-old mother in my life.

My hidden talent is…

I'm an overconfident do it your-selfer! I watch HGTV and think, "I can do that!"

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for a while. I'm a farm girl. I was born and raised outside of Bowling Green. After college, I relocated to several different states with my retail career, but eventually came back home to marry my husband and settle back down in my hometown.

What I like best about my community is…

it's home! My large extended family is here and I enjoy being involved with their lives.

I’m a member of…

Plain Congregational Church in Bowling Green.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when my church raised $4,000 by hosting a spaghetti dinner to help a toddler with severe health issues. Modern Woodmen's Matching Fund Program helped this family offset some of their medical bills.
