Our leaders live the fraternal spirit. During their last meeting, Modern Woodmen board members joined employees in packing boxes for the local food bank. Just another way we're different than other financial companies.

As a Regional Director, one of my goals is to help prepare future leaders for our management roles. That is why we started “Leadership Academy” - a bi-monthly program where I meet with a group of Financial Representatives to dive into leadership books that start conversations around strategy, people management and growth. You can call it our version of a book club 😉 This month I chose a book from a very special person – Admiral Sandra Stosz. Sandra spent over 40 years in the US Coast Guard and was the first woman to command an icebreaker on the Great Lakes and now serves on Modern Woodmen's board of directors. Her book "Breaking Ice and Breaking Glass: Leading in Uncharted Waters" is full of powerful lessons on leading with character, building strong teams and staying grounded in your values. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to grow as a leader - both professionally and personally. #MWA #ModernWoodmen
