Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

Helping others has always been at the heart of what I do. As a pastor, I have the privilege of serving people spiritually; as a financial representative, I help individuals and families work toward greater financial security; and as a volunteer, I serve alongside others to strengthen our community.

I serve members in…

Brookhaven, Bogue Chitto, McComb and southwest Mississippi.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, individuals preparing for retirement, and small-business owners. I enjoy helping people understand their options, prepare for life’s uncertainties, and build a financial strategy for the future. My goal is to provide practical guidance and a personal relationship they can rely on through every stage of life.

I attended…

Mississippi College, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in accounting, and Colorado Christian University, where I earned my Master of Arts in accounting.

I am very proud of…

building a career centered on service and leadership. I’m proud of earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, serving in financial leadership roles, and serving others through more than 18 years of pastoral ministry. Today, I’m especially proud to bring those experiences together to help families, individuals, and small-business owners build stronger financial futures while continuing to serve my community.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked in healthcare for 13 years, served as a licensed funeral director for 14 years, and have devoted 19 years to pastoral ministry. Each of these roles has given me the opportunity to serve individuals and families during some of life’s most important and most difficult moments. Those experiences continue to shape the way I serve my members today.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the power of fraternalism and bringing people together to make a meaningful difference. Modern Woodmen lets me help individuals and families plan for greater financial security while also working alongside my members to strengthen and serve our communities. It allows me to combine two things I’m passionate about: helping people prepare for their future and making a positive impact today.

The best part of my career is…

seeing how God has continually provided opportunities for me to serve while supporting my family and the congregations I’ve been blessed to lead. Throughout each season of my career, I’ve used my experiences to help others and make a difference.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I realized that the greatest impact often comes from simply being there when people need you most. Whether helping a family through a difficult season, serving a congregation, or helping someone prepare financially for the future, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people during important moments in their lives.

Also…

I understand firsthand why financial preparation matters. I lost my father in an offshore accident when I was 12 years old, and I saw the financial challenges my mother faced afterward. That experience has stayed with me and is one of the reasons I’m passionate about helping families prepare for the unexpected.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Lynn, and daughters Heather, Kayla, Hanna, Haley, Madison and Lily. We are also blessed with our grandchildren: Logan, Eliza, Patterson, Maeleigh, Grayson, Nash, Anthony, Marlee and Lyla (with Parker on the way)! Family is one of God’s greatest blessings in my life and a constant reminder of why helping families protect what matters most is so important to me.

In my free time, you can find me…

spending time with my family, whether we’re celebrating a birthday, enjoying a cookout or simply being together. I also enjoy spending time with my church family and congregation.

I’m passionate about…

serving others. Whether through my family, ministry, career or community, I believe we are blessed with opportunities to make a difference in the lives of those around us.

My greatest blessing is…

my family. I’m incredibly thankful for my wife, our daughters and our growing family of grandchildren. They are a constant reminder of God’s goodness and the importance of faith, family and time spent together.

My personal motto is…

“Guiding people with grace, truth and purpose.” “Lead me in Your truth and teach me…” Psalm 25:5 (NKJV) This motto reflects how I strive to live, lead and serve –extending grace, standing on truth and helping others move forward with purpose.

My hidden talent is…

cooking. I love bringing people together around the table and preparing a good meal for family and friends. There’s just something special about good food, good conversation and the fellowship that happens when people share a meal together.

Also…

Home for me is centered around faith, family and fellowship. Whether it’s spending time with Lynn and our family, cooking for a family gathering or sitting around talking and laughing together, I value the simple moments most. I’ve learned that some of life’s greatest blessings aren’t things at all; they’re the people God has placed around our table.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life. Southwest Mississippi is home, and I’m grateful for the relationships, churches and communities that have shaped who I am.

What I like best about my community is…

the way people genuinely care for one another. Whether it’s helping a neighbor in need, supporting a local family or volunteering to make our community stronger, people here are willing to step up and give back. That spirit of caring for one another is what makes southwest Mississippi such a special place to call home.

I’m a member of…

the Lions Club and First Christian Church of McComb. Both give me opportunities to serve alongside others who care about making a difference, strengthening our community and helping people in need.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

outreach, missions and our Thursday night small-group Bible study. I enjoy opportunities to serve others, build relationships, study God’s Word together and share hope in practical ways. Whether through my church or alongside others in the community, I believe we make the greatest impact when we put our faith into action and serve together.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

opportunities to volunteer alongside other Modern Woodmen members and make a meaningful difference right here in our community. I enjoy bringing people together to serve our neighbors, support local needs and strengthen the communities we call home.

Financial planning begins with relationships

After years of serving people through ministry, finance, administration, and walking alongside families during some of life’s most important moments, I realized something: people aren’t just looking for financial products –they’re looking for someone who will listen, educate and help them make wise decisions. My goal is simple: build relationships; understand your needs; and help individuals, families and businesses identify opportunities and financial gaps so they can prepare for both today and tomorrow. Every conversation starts the same – way not with products, but with people. Let’s start with a simple conversation.
