Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I’m so blessed to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to do what I do.

I serve members in…

northern Mississippi and western Tennessee.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, those approaching retirement, business owners and those who want to plan a legacy for their church or favorite charity.

I attended…

Northwest Community College and the University of Mississippi.

I am very proud of…

earning top-club status every year with Modern Woodmen and serving more than 1,000 members with our fraternal programs and financial products through our Planning for Life system.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

managed a business incubator in Tupelo, Mississippi.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

we’re a membership organization that provides financial services and gives back to the families and communities we serve. We hire financial representatives dedicated to helping individuals and businesses.

The best part of my career is…

getting to know people and working together to solve their financial issues. I feel good helping them confidently plan for a secure financial future.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I met with a man in his 70s who was still working. He was reluctant to meet because he felt he wasn’t in a financial position to retire anytime soon. After carefully examining his situation, we crafted a plan for him not only to retire, but also become an integral part of his church's volunteer program.

Also…

People love our fraternal programs to socialize, volunteer, provide money to their favorite community organizations.

“I enjoy working with families, those approaching retirement, business owners, and those who want to plan a legacy for their church or favorite charity.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Sue Ann, and my two daughters, Lydia and Nora.

In my free time, you can find me…

going for walks in my neighborhood, reading and spending time with family.

I’m passionate about…

helping others. I've seen many situations where a small amount of planning would’ve had a big impact. I want everyone I know to have the privilege of what my training and hard work can offer them.

My greatest blessing is…

working in a career I love and making new friends while fulfilling my purpose in life. I’m also blessed with a wonderful family and great health!

My personal motto is…

"People who work together will win." - Coach Vince Lombardi

My hidden talent is…

yard work. I love to work outside and make everything look nice!

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

in northern Mississippi since I was a child. I was born in Memphis.

What I like best about my community is…

it has a lot of things big cities offer, but the spirit and personal relationships of a small town. We love living here. There is always more to do than we have time for!

I’m a member of…

All Saints' Episcopal Church and Business Networking International (BNI).

My favorite volunteer activities are…

hands-on activities that let members make a visible impact in our community for years to come, such as planting trees. I also love conducting educational seminars on financial topics with expert speakers. I want to help members be sure their plans are in today's changing world.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need and enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when my chapter raised more than $6,000 by hosting a Valentine's Day dance and dinner named "Sweethearts for a Sweet Cause" to help a local family. The father had surgery for a brain tumor and the money helped offset medical and travel expenses.
