Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

northern Mississippi and western Tennessee.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, those approaching retirement, business owners and those who want to plan a legacy for their church or favorite charity.

I attended…

Northwest Community College and the University of Mississippi.

I am very proud of…

earning top club status each one of my seven years with Modern Woodmen of America and serving more than 600 clients with our fraternal benefits and the financial products that come with our Planning for Life system.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

managed a business incubator in Tupelo, Mississippi.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

Modern Woodmen is a not-for-profit organization that not only gives dollars back to its members and the communities they live in, but also hires financial representatives who will dedicate their careers to helping individuals and businesses solve long-term financial issues with permanent solutions.

The best part of my career is…

getting to know people in a way that helps us work through the unique financial issues they have and enables them to confidently plan for a secure financial future.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

early in my career, I met with a gentleman who was over 70 years old and still working. He was reluctant to meet because he said there was just no way for him to be in a financial position to retire anytime soon. After a careful examination of his situation, we were able to craft a plan that enabled him to not only go ahead and retire, but become an integral part of his church's volunteer program.

Also…

The people I meet with love using our fraternal benefits as ways to socialize, volunteer, provide money to their favorite community organizations and supplement their planning for the future.

“I enjoy working with families, those approaching retirement, business owners, and those who want to plan a legacy for their church or favorite charity.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Sue Ann, and my two daughters, Lydia and Nora.

In my free time, you can find me…

going for a workout at North Lee Crossfit, reading and spending time with family.

I’m passionate about…

helping others. I've seen lots of situations where just a small about of planning would have had a big impact, and I want to make sure everyone I know has the privilege of everything that my training and hard work can offer them.

My greatest blessing is…

being able to work in a career I love and making so many new friends while fulfilling my purpose in life. Along with having a wonderful family and great health, this is my greatest blessing.

My personal motto is…

"People who work together will win." - Coach Vince Lombardi

My hidden talent is…

yard work. I love to work outside and make everything look nice!

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

in northern Mississippi since I was a child. I was born in Memphis.

What I like best about my community is…

it has almost all of the things a big city could offer, but the spirit and personal relationships most often found in a small town. We love living here - there is always more to do than we have time for!

I’m a member of…

All Saints' Episcopal Church and Business Networking International (BNI).

My favorite volunteer activities are…

hands-on activities that enable our members to make a visible impact on our community for many years to come, such as planting trees. I also love conducting educational seminars on financial topics with expert speakers, which enable our members to make sure their plans for the future are current in today's changing world.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need and enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when we raised more than $6,000 by hosting a Valentine's dance and dinner named "Sweethearts for a Sweet Cause." The dance helped help a local family: the father had surgery for a brain tumor and the money helped offset medical and travel expenses.
