3 feet of water in their basement, 2 feet in their garage, 2 lost cars, and more: This became the reality for one of clients. In August, Wisconsin had a TERRIBLE flood which wrecked houses, cars, and small businesses. This left many wondering what to do next… with so many belongings lost, where do you start? After the flooding, I spoke with my client, and she described the damage. Lost two cars, a washer, dryer, stand up freezer, kitchen table, air conditioners, humidifiers, clothing, much more. However, losing their lifelong memories hurt the most. Our office encouraged her to make a Go-Fund Me to raise money for the damage. With this, our office matched $2,500 of the donated proceeds. They have a long road ahead of them but so far, they’ve been able to salvage one car! Wisconsin has come together to help others affected by the flood. At the end of the day, if my clients reach out to me in a time of need. I’ll do everything in my power to help them out. We have to stick together, especially after a tragedy such as this one. ------------------- Hi, I'm Jon Dannecker! I bet I can scare you with one word…. Do you think I can’t? Watch me. Finances. Yes, it’s not the scariest word in the world. However, SO many people avoid the topic at all costs. Why is that? Maybe you grew up in a household where discussing finances was “rude.” Maybe you were never taught the financial basics. Maybe finances were a sensitive topic. There are so many reasons for not being open to talking about your finances. However, it’s crucial for relationships and for our kids to learn financial literacy. Think about it… would you get married to someone without knowing their financial situation? Would you let your kids move out without any knowledge on financial literacy? It’s important to have open conversations about finances. With this, it can spark further conversations that can help you both in the future. Let’s break the stigma around the word “finance.” -------------------- Hi, I'm Jon Dannecker! For over 14 years, I've been helping families, businesses, and individuals plan for the financial future. Let’s face the facts. Social media doesn’t show you the whole picture. Someone’s life can look perfect on social media. However, they’re only showing you what THEY want you to see. Recently, I had a client come in who was feeling overwhelmed. They watch all their friends have their life put together. Seeing trips, parties, anniversaries, etc… While they (my client) is struggling to hold it all together. At some point or another we all fall victim to this. Overanalyzing social media. They have it all together… why don’t I? However, remember they are only showing you what THEY want you to see. Someone’s life can look perfect on social media but is falling apart offline. Together, we reassessed their financial plan. We started working on a debt strategy to not only save but pay off their debt. The client left our meeting feeling relieved. An important reminder to you all that social media isn’t real. It’s not the whole picture. 📌Do you believe that social media shows the full story? --------------------- Hi, I'm Jon Dannecker! The most inspiring person I honored this month? She spends her days cleaning litter boxes. One of my favorite parts of my job is honoring others making a difference in the community! Last weekend, we honored my client, Sue, for her work at the local animal shelter. Since retiring, she’s become an asset to animal shelter. In her nomination, they wrote “Sue puts in hours of labor and love for the cats, volunteering, cleaning, and adoption process.” It was an honor to highlight the work she’s doing. All animals deserve loving home. It’s the little things about my job that I love the most! 📌Do you want to nominate a Hometown Hero in the Wisconsin area? Message me! 📌Are you more of a cat or dog person? ---------------- Hi, I'm Jon Dannecker! For over 14 years, I've been helping families, businesses, and individuals plan for the financial future.
