Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Elizabethtown, Louisville, southern Indiana and all surrounding areas.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

all age groups. I enjoy helping young families begin retirement accumulation, people who have not started saving but always wanted to, and those approaching retirement. I can show you how to begin planning and help you implement a plan.

I attended…

Campbellsville University.

I am very proud of…

earning Rookie of the Year for 2010 in the West Kentucky Region, the Kentucky Award in the West Kentucky Region for 2016, and Century Club for 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked at Toyota in Georgetown, Kentucky, and had a career in tax accounting and auditing.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of the giving back. I can't begin to imagine all the people and organizations I've been fortunate enough to help with Modern Woodmen's fraternalism.

The best part of my career is…

making a positive impact. It spreads! Through life insurance, retirement planning and estate planning, I've really made a difference in families' lives.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I've shown young people how easy it is to get started with a retirement plan. I've written life insurance plans to protect them and their family. I've done this several times.

Also…

I love when I can confidently have a plan for senior citizens that will help them. My passion is to help all people -- and it's so important to help the generation who helped build this great country before me!

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Andrea, my daughters, Danielle, Ashley, Jordan and Madison, and my son, Cameron.

In my free time, you can find me…

being fraternally active! I plan and attend several Modern Woodmen activities in a month. Many I visit as the financial representative to support the local fraternal leader. I'm constantly spreading the Modern Woodmen story. I travel Kentucky and Indiana and enjoy visiting Modern Woodmen members and their communities.

I’m passionate about…

my close extended family who helps each other when in need -- also, college football and basketball, NFL and NBA.

My greatest blessing is…

my Christian faith, my family and my health.

My personal motto is…

of course the Golden Rule. And the Modern Woodmen creed: "There is a destiny which makes us brothers; none goes his way alone; all that we send into the lives us others comes back into our own."

My hidden talent is…

math.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for 10 years in Louisville. My second office is in Elizabethtown, and I'm in the area at least four days a week. I lived in Lebanon most of my life and will always consider it home.

What I like best about my community is…

the relationships I have built.

I’m a member of…

FIC, NAFIC, NAIFA and, of course, Modern Woodmen of America.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

providing a large amount of food to feed the hungry and donating school supplies for several schools in the areas where I work and live. We distribute hats and gloves to children in need and the homeless in winter.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

all of our Hometown Hero recognitions. The hero is always so appreciative. I thoroughly enjoy telling the story of the Hometown Hero.

Make 'em say, "Ooooh!" with a life insurance plan for even the littlest pumpkins in the patch. Let's talk.

Our COMMON VALUES Throughout history, Modern Woodmen members have been connected by three things: financial security, quality family life, and community impact. What do these values mean for your life?

The name Modern Woodmen was inspired by: a. Lumberjacks. b. Pioneer woodmen. c. Cabinet makers. Answer: Pioneer woodmen. We were founded in 1883 to clear financial burdens – just as pioneer woodmen cleared the land to build homes and security for their families.
