Why I do what I do

I chose this career because it’s all about helping others. I help my members plan for a secure financial future.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a U.S. Army chaplain for nearly 27 years, and my ministry efforts provided care for the spiritual health of soldiers and their families. Now, as financial rep, I am able to extend my ministry into the realm of caring for the financial health of my member clients and friends.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the strong values of my organization and the value of its products. I feel good every day knowing that I am helping people secure their financial futures and the futures of their loved ones.

My greatest blessing is…

knowing Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. And on this earth, not having the pressure to sell anyone any product. I simply provide options and knowledge, so that people can make comfortable financial decisions.

I’m a member of…

Northside Christian Church in Yorktown, where I am involved in teaching classes and in the men's ministry. I am also an active member of BNI (Business Network International), the York County Chamber, and the Christian Business Chamber of Hampton Roads.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund activities that give back to my local community and all of the extra peace-of-mind fraternal benefits that are provided at no additional cost to our members.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when a family lost its home to a fire in 2015, and we were able to partner with a local Chick-Fil-A to raise over $2,500 in one day. Modern Woodmen's home office cut a check and matched $1,000. This truly brought joy to me personally, and it thrilled the six family members to see Modern Woodmen come to their aid in a time of such great need.
