I recently had the privilege of joining Lily Pad for their Build Day, helping assemble furniture for six new rooms that will soon be installed at the Charleston DSS office! These spaces will include a dining/celebration room, teen room, infant room, toddler room, elementary room, and a dedicated Lily Pad room. Each space is thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, safety, and a sense of belonging for children and families navigating difficult circumstances. We are also incredibly proud that Chapter 12266 matched $2,500 to help bring this mission to life! Lily Pad is a Christian nonprofit ministry dedicated to transforming spaces into safe, trauma-informed environments for children in foster care, individuals who have experienced trauma, and families facing crisis. Their impact continues to grow, with 47 offices served and 86 rooms created across South Carolina DSS offices, with their mission expanding into law enforcement spaces and even Michigan!
