Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

When I was a nurse, I found my purpose in helping people improve their physical health and well-being. That same desire to care for others is what’s guiding me in this next chapter — helping individuals and families achieve financial health and security.

I serve members in…

the greater Austin metro area and Central Texas.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

young professionals, families, individuals approaching retirement, small-business owners and health care workers.

I attended…

Texas A&M and the University of Texas Medical Branch.

I am very proud of…

being a third-generation Modern Woodmen member.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a critical care nurse for nine years.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization - not only for how it supports members to reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members be better off than when I first met them.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I delivered my first death claim. It was the first time I saw the difference life insurance can make for multiple generations. It was an impactful experience I'll never forget.

New adult money tip: Lifestyle creep is real. As your income goes up, it’s easy for spending to rise with it – often without noticing. You can help combat it by keeping a baseline budget and saving part of every raise to keep your money working for you. Let's meet to discuss how I can help you reach your goals.

#MotivationMonday

One of my favorite parts of what we do at Modern Woodmen is getting the opportunity to recognize the people who quietly make a huge impact in our communities every single day. This week, we were honored to present our Hometown Hero Award to Sarah Urban, counselor at Henry Middle School. Sarah was nominated by a fellow teacher for consistently going above and beyond for both her students and staff. The care, encouragement, and support she pours into others does not go unnoticed, and it’s clear she plays a major role in creating a positive environment for everyone around her. As a Henry Middle School alumni myself, this recognition was especially meaningful. It’s always rewarding to give back to the school and community that helped shape who I am today. Thank you, Sarah, for all you do for your students, your coworkers, and the next generation. Communities are stronger because of people like you. #ModernWoodmen #HometownHero #TeachersMatter #SchoolCounselor #Community #GiveBack #HenryMiddleSchool
