Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I have a passion for individuals, families and small-business owners plan for their financial while also giving back to the community! It's a dream come true and a blessing I can’t describe.

I serve members in…

Ashland, Mansfield and surrounding communities, particularly the Crestview local schools area, in Ohio. I can also serve members in the West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities and mutual funds.

I enjoy working with…

anyone and everyone! My father taught me not to judge a person by their appearance. He also taught me that people of all ages, colors, professions, cultures and backgrounds can have a profound impact on each other and become lifelong friends!

I attended…

Crestview High School, Ashland, Ohio, and West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, West Virginia.

I am very proud of…

earning my FIC and FSCP designations, Series 6 and Series 63 licenses, my bachelor’s degree, and my Master's of Business Administration degree all within four years!

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked as a branch manager at another financial services organization and as a housekeeping manager at the Greenbrier Hotel & Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

the organization genuinely cares about members and representatives. We genuinely care about our communities and the financial futures of the individuals, families and small businesses we serve. We're an organization that truly stands behind our values.

The best part of my career is…

helping people every single day through the relationships I build with my members. Another great part of my career is how Modern Woodmen gives back to members and their communities fraternally. It's an unbelievable feeling to help individuals, families and communities in so many different ways!

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I presented a Matching Fund check to a young couple whose home was destroyed by a fire. To help a family through something so devastating and unexpected was so humbling. It made me grateful for my many blessings, including serving as a representative for this organization!

“I enjoy working with ANYONE and EVERYONE! My father taught me to never judge a person by their appearance. He also taught me that people of all ages, colors, professions, cultures and backgrounds can have a profound impact on each other and become lifelong friends!”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Clinton, my fur babies, my siblings, and several close friends I consider family.

In my free time, you can find me…

gardening, playing cards, riding four-wheelers, hunting, fishing, running or volunteering!

I’m passionate about…

my faith, my job, my friends and family, helping others any way I can, my dogs, my home and Helvetia, West Virginia.

My greatest blessing is…

having the support of so many wonderful people in my life!

My personal motto is…

always have faith!

My hidden talent is…

canning fresh produce and meat, and square dancing!

Also…

I pride myself on not judging others. It's our job to love each other!

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for the past 10 years, but I was also born and raised here. I lived in West Virginia during college and for several years after.

What I like best about my community is…

there are a lot of people who have lived here their whole lives -- because the area is just that great!

I’m a member of…

BNI, NAFIC, Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, NAIFA, Ashland Young Professionals, Helvetia Farm Women and Faith UMC.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

helping shelters or humane societies ... or anything for the community of Helvetia.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

helping with a benefit for a 2-year-old boy with a rare type of brain cancer. The Richland County toddler couldn't attend the event because he was hospitalized, but he joined us by Skype. It was both heart-wrenching and heartwarming! Our Modern Woodmen chapter matched funds raised at the event.

Members, there's still time for you and your family and friends to join us on our West Coast cruise! Cabins are almost full. Don't miss out on this exciting adventure in Cabo! https://na.eventscloud.com/CaboCruise/

Looking for a meaningful gift this holiday season? Set your grandchildren up for lifelong security with life insurance designed just for them. · Lock in low rates while they’re young. · Protect their future insurability. · Build cash value for college, a first car, or other milestones. Let’s talk about how you can give peace of mind that lasts a lifetime.

Behind every small business is a dream, a plan, and a whole lot of hard work. This season let’s support the planners, the creators, and the doers in our community.  Tag your favorite local business and share how they inspire you!  #ShopLocal

This holiday season, reimagine what giving back can look like. Here are a few ways to make heartfelt community gestures. 1. Partner with a local animal shelter to host a “pet pantry” of donated pet food, treats and toys. 2. Organize a holiday story hour at a local library or school and read seasonal books aloud. 3. Set up a tree at a local business where community members can hang donated hats, gloves and scarves for those in need. 4. Provide moments of joy on everyday routes by leaving holiday cards or small treats for postal workers or delivery drivers. Modern Woodmen members, apply for a $200 Do-Good Grant®️ to try one of these ideas! https://www.modernwoodmen.org/do-good-grant/
