Why I do what I do
Why I do what I do
my first wife passed away at age 34, leaving me with three young kids. Fortunately, I had life insurance and investments to help at that time. I believe everyone needs to prepare for the inevitable. I’m passionate about helping my members determine their financial goals. We work together to create a plan based on their unique needs and desires.
I serve members in…
Tooele County and throughout Utah. I have members in Salt Lake City, West Jordan, South Jordan, Herriman, West Valley City, Magna, and as far away as Blanding. I also am licensed in Kentucky, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.
I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…
life insurance, annuities and mutual funds.
I enjoy working with…
all people. My story includes someone helping me at a young age, so I especially like working with young families. I'm also passionate about working with small-business owners and individuals approaching retirement. I like to teach people the differences between term life, universal life and whole life insurance. When we talk about retirement, I enjoy helping people under understand 401(k) plans and IRA options.
I attended…
Utah State University in Logan, Utah. I also served as a missionary in Taiwan for two years.
I am very proud of…
the awards and recognition I've received with Modern Woodmen, Rotary and BNI. My favorite is being named my region's Fraternalist of the Year in 2015. I love service, and I'm a past president of the Tooele Valley Rotary Club.
Before Modern Woodmen, I…
worked in retail for 18 years and owned my own ice cream parlor for three years. I have also held various sales jobs, none of which were as personally satisfying as helping people plan for the future. All of my previous jobs have made me who I am and made it possible for me to help people of all walks of life.
I chose Modern Woodmen because…
I felt like it mirrored my ethics. I wanted to help people financially, but that wasn't all. I also wanted to make an impact on my community. Through our fraternal programs and benefits, I can support the community and give back to members in many ways.
The best part of my career is…
helping my members. It's great to help them protect their families while planning for their future and retirement. Each member truly becomes my friend, not just a "client."
A favorite moment in my career was when…
I was sitting at the table with a young family and the dad's lightbulb came on, realizing how important planning is. He said he didn't need life insurance on his wife because she was "just a stay-at-home mom" and didn't provide income. I explained my history, how my wife died at 34, and what a game-changer it was to know that I had the money to continue to take care of my family on my terms.
Also…
I love the fact that I can make a difference in people's lives every day and help them secure their futures.
