Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I help families balance today's expenses while securing their children's future. I am passionate about helping people achieve their financial goals while making a positive impact in our community.

I serve members in…

middle Georgia.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, retirement planning, investment options, and small-business benefits.

I enjoy working with…

recent graduates, young couples, families, and small-business owners.

I attended…

Georgia College & State University and Valdosta State University.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

taught mathematics and coached soccer for 25 years.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization. As a member myself for over 15 years, I know Modern Woodmen not only supports members to reach their financial goals, but also supports my community and allows me to give back.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my daughter, EllaClaire; dog, Princess; and cats Skye, Chloe and Xander.

In my free time, you can find me…

watching my daughter perform, cheering on the Tennessee Vols, traveling, or in the gym.

I’m passionate about…

helping others through education.

My greatest blessing is…

my beautiful daughter, EllaClaire.

My personal motto is…

Strength is not the absence of struggle, but the power to rise after the fall.

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for 15 years

My favorite volunteer activities are…

helping youth learn the importance of giving back to the community and witnessing the positive impact of their contributions.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

opportunities for young members, including the Birthday Book Club, Do-Good Grant, financial literacy programs, and scholarships.

Back in the day, members used unique ways to express the need to prepare for the unexpected. Goggles (called "hoodwinks") were sometimes worn by a new member as part of an initiation ritual. Pins (push buttons) on the goggles changed the color seen through eyepieces from black to red, open and closed. This prop showed that things change throughout your life. #ThrowbackThursday
