Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I chose this career because it’s all about helping others. I help my members plan for a secure financial future.

I serve members in…

the Quad Cities and surrounding towns in both Iowa and Illinois.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, individuals, and business owners to help them plan for their futures and obtain financial security.

I attended…

Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois, to obtain my bachelor's degree in business administration, and Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois, to obtain my Master of Business Administration degree (MBA). Go Fighting Scots and Leathernecks!

I am very proud of…

my decision to move from the Modern Woodmen of America home office to start my own office and help more of my friends, family and community members reach financial security with the life insurance, retirement, and financial services products that Modern Woodmen offers.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a student athlete. I started my career at the Modern Woodmen of America home office right after graduation from Monmouth College in 2011. Growing up, I enjoyed playing sports like baseball, football and hockey, which taught me the teamwork and discipline that has helped me get to where I am today.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I needed a job! I found Modern Woodmen right after college and got to tell Mom and Dad I found a job and could finally move out of the basement. I stayed because of what Modern Woodmen stands for and how we are able to help communities across the country through not only the products we offer to help people with their financial security, but the emphasis on community service and giving back to the communities we serve.

The best part of my career is…

helping people by building relationships and learning about their individual needs. We look at people's specific situations to help them reach financial security so they don't have to worry about their family's future. It's teamwork!

A favorite moment in my career was when…

after a decade working at the home office, I made the decision to start my own office so I could better serve my family, friends, and community with Modern Woodmen and what we offer through products and member benefits.

“I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including life insurance, annuities, stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and variable annuities.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Jamie, our son Hudson, and our two dogs, Max and Jackson.

In my free time, you can find me…

spending time with Jamie, Hudson and the dogs. I also enjoy getting on the golf course with friends and playing slow-pitch softball.

I’m passionate about…

helping others. I enjoy meeting new people and hopefully make their lives better when I do. Being able to help people with their financial security through Modern Woodmen is special to me.

My greatest blessing is…

my family and friends, and being able to enjoy my time with them.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

more than a decade. I moved to the Quad Cities right after college. I grew up in Morrison, Illinois. Go Mustangs!

What I like best about my community is…

all there is to do. During the summer months there always seems to be some sort of festival. We have the River Bandits minor league baseball team at Modern Woodmen Park overlooking the Modern Woodmen home office across the Mississippi River. Jamie and I also enjoy trying all the different restaurants in the area.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

helping with River Bend Food Bank and really anything that Modern Woodmen is involved with.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Donating educational programs.

Life Insurance: It’s Not Morbid, It’s Mindful

Life insurance for kids: It's not morbid, it's mindful. As a parent, life insurance may not be the most fun present you'll ever give your kids. But it's a building block that may benefit them longer than those stray Lego bricks you step on in the middle of the night. Let's talk.
