Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I have the opportunity to build lifelong relationships with the members and clients I serve.

I serve members in…

the greater Magic Valley area and farmers and veterinarians throughout the Pacific Northwest.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

individuals, families and small-business owners. I specifically enjoy working with farmers, cattlemen and dairymen to help them plan for the industries’ unique retirement needs.

I am very proud of…

serving the greater Magic Valley area for over 21 years.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a part-owner and manager of a family farm.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

the organization offered the opportunity to build lifelong relationships with those I serve.

The best part of my career is…

helping families conquer financial hurdles through investment advice, tailored retirement plans, and custom insurance solutions – all backed by my 20-plus years of experience and over 120 years of Modern Woodmen's trusted service to communities!

A favorite moment in my career was when…

a local fraternal volunteer called to share her story with me. Modern Woodmen helped with a community food drive, and this volunteer delivered the groceries to a needy family. She was emotional describing how satisfied she was to make a real difference in this family’s life through volunteering with Modern Woodmen.

Also…

With over 20 years of experience, I've enjoyed helping clients move forward in uncertain times. I hope to do the same for you!

“Servicing the greater Magic Valley area, empowering farmers and veterinarians with financial services throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife and adult children, who live out of state. We also recently became grandparents. We try to have annual family reunions on our farm.

In my free time, you can find me…

walking the canyon rim trails, hiking the South Hills, or kayaking with my wife. You could also find my wife and me tending to our farm animals or small orchard.

My greatest blessing is…

living in the Magic Valley with its abundant outdoor recreational opportunities.

My hidden talent is…

agriculture. It’s been over 30 years since farming was my primary occupation. However, I now manage a 10-acre farm with a small orchard and beef cows. I find the work rewarding and relaxing. It also provides a clear understanding of the financial realities faced by my many clients in the agricultural sector.

Also…

I enjoy photographing rivers, trails and mountains of southern Idaho.

Community impact

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for nearly 30 years.

What I like best about my community is…

the people and easy access to great recreational activities!

My favorite volunteer activities are…

Matching Fund activities. My chapters help with several each year to help in the greater Magic Valley. These service projects benefit area fire departments, pet shelters, schools and the underprivileged.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

our Matching Fund projects, where we team up to raise money and make a difference for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

an annual Modern Woodmen tradition in our community called "Christmas for All." Six fraternal chapters, eight youth service clubs, and a homeschool group rally together to support families in need. This massive volunteer effort impacts over 70 individuals who might not otherwise have a Christmas.

Also…

I enjoy Idaho's rich agricultural economy and its unique rural scenery. The accompanying photo is of my wife, daughter and me in our pasture. Some might say I am "out standing in my field."

Valley House fundraiser

We donated over $3,000 to Sharon Breshears, director of Valley House. Even in uncertain times, Modern Woodmen's service club leaders and adult chapters know how to rally for a good cause. We're proud to have supported the Valley House homeless shelter, right here in Twin Falls, Idaho, for over a decade.
