Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

central Arkansas.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, those approaching retirement and small businesses.

My life outside of work

In my free time, you can find me…

traveling the state of Arkansas, going to plays and movies, volunteering, or spending time with friends and family. I am very involved with Bethlehem House, a local transitional shelter, as a member of the board and active volunteer. I also enjoy working with my church and other organizations that help those in need.

I’m passionate about…

helping others. I grew up on a farm, and on a farm everyone has to contribute. It's a great way to grow up -- not only do you learn the value of helping your community, but you also learn how much you gain when you focus on helping others. This passion for helping others has helped me relate to clients at work, as I've learned to see needs others have that may not be immediately obvious.

My greatest blessing is…

my family. My son and I are close, and I see my five siblings and their families often. We frequently volunteer together.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

all of my life. I grew up on a dairy farm in Faulkner County. I didn't have to help milk, thankfully! I'm grateful to Modern Woodmen for all of our fraternal activities because it gives me one more outlet for staying involved with the Conway and Faulkner County communities.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

those that encourage volunteering alongside other Modern Woodmen members. I also really like the Matching Fund Program. We are built for members, not for profit, so we’re very community- and volunteer-oriented. This means we put a lot of time and money back into the community.

This program is for members suffering a financial hardship due to a serious health problem, fire or natural disaster.
