On Saturday, August 29, District Agent Chris Howard and Managing Partner Wally Bowden were honored to present the Hometown Hero Awards for our St. Augustine/Palm Coast chapter to Melissa Fulling and Mark Mistie. Melissa is the founder of the Live Like Cameron charity helping families dealing with childhood cancer in their community. Mark is an entrepreneur force in the Palm Coast area and is deeply involved in giving back to multiple non-profits in his community. Not only did Modern Woodmen honor these two individuals but they are making a donation on their behalf to Live Like Cameron charity and also provided $500 worth of comfort supplies that will be used to serve the children in their community battling cancer. What a wonderful evening it was!

Modern Woodmen of America has just launched it's brand new financial literacy curriculum for ages K-8. It is FREE to use in any public, private or homeschool setting, as well as any other type of youth setting like scouts or churches. This past weekend local Jacksonville chapters 16014 and 16799 combined to raise over $3100 towards the Isaiah 117 House Lemonade Stand Fundraiser. Locally in our county there were 76 total stands that raised a total of $34,244.08. Thank you to all of our members and guests who had a part in making this a successful fundraiser.
