Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

the great states of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana, with my office located in Springfield, Ohio.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

my team to protect families and establish community partners to really impact our communities.

I attended…

Hocking College.

I am very proud of…

the impact my team and I have made in our local communities. My team members either lead or are involved with local community chapters and youth service clubs. I was awarded a Modern Woodmen fraternalism award in 2014 for my personal efforts, and in 2016, I received a Quality Career Trainer award. My team continues to grow and achieve Sure Start awards.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a retail supervisor for big box retail and specialty retail organizations.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I agree with what Modern Woodmen stands for. Our community involvement makes this organization special. Modern Woodmen also offers affordable products for members, quality training for reps and advancement opportunities for management. Most importantly, Modern Woodmen really cares about its members.

The best part of my career is…

protecting families financially and impacting communities fraternally.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I presented several Matching Fund checks to a local organization for flood relief.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my loving parents of 52 years, August and Dorothy Blevins, and one brother, Timothy.

In my free time, you can find me…

out in the community walking and talking with people, or teaching through youth ministry.

I’m passionate about…

making a difference in the world by teaching, learning and/or volunteering.

My greatest blessing is…

my everyday walk with Jesus Christ.

My personal motto is…

just believe.

My hidden talent is…

finding the positives in every situation.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for over 40 years.

What I like best about my community is…

the opportunities to get involved. I can let my voice be heard to make an impact.

I’m a member of…

the Urban Light Ministries Board of Directors and am a Spark Youth Ministry leader.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

teaching children financial literacy and life lessons and providing for people who need a hand up, not a handout.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

standing on stage at Live on the Levee, asking people to donate for flood relief. The outpouring of support was amazing.
