Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Jackson and Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and the surrounding areas.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

business owners, families, retirees and professionals.

I attended…

Southeast Missouri State University.

I am very proud of…

the many local awards and achievements in my community.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a credit manager with Wells Fargo and a tax preparer for H&R Block.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I value the commitment to the community and the many benefits I am able to offer my members in addition to great services. The innovation of the organization and its continued growth are very impressive. I enjoy the ability to calculate to the penny the amount needed in various planning models, including life insurance, retirement and estate planning.

The best part of my career is…

how I can help those in need in my community through the fraternal elements of Modern Woodmen and how I can continue my efforts to serve members to the best of my ability.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I was able to tell a member client he would be able to meet his retirement needs without running out of money. That is the greatest feeling in the world ... to know you have helped someone achieve financial security.

Also…

I love the feeling I get when I'm able to offer someone life insurance coverage when he or she was previously turned down by another insurance company.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Chris, and my daughters, Savannah and Christina.

In my free time, you can find me…

at a business event in the area or just out supporting my many business nonprofit clients' events.

I’m passionate about…

my family, my friends and my church.

My greatest blessing is…

my family, my members and my community as a whole.

My personal motto is…

to do what's right first and the rest will follow. If it's not right, I will walk away.

My hidden talent is…

recreating a dish just by tasting it.

Also…

I love to build long-lasting relationships with everyone I meet. I have, after all, never met a stranger.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

over 20 years.

I’m a member of…

Junior Achievement, Lighthouse Breakthrough Church, The Tree Christian Business Network, Cape West Rotary Club, Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, Cape Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Fraternal Alliance, NAIFA St. Louis and Jackson Senior Center.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

Matching Fund programs. I love to work side-by-side to reach a goal and raise money for my community. I also enjoy helping children in my youth club, as well as seniors in the community.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

helping provide positive experiences for kids through Modern Woodmen’s local youth service clubs.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

the food drive for Jackson Ministerial Alliance. When we finished the one-day drive, the food pantry was so excited. We were able to get over 1,175 items in one day! That was a great feeling.

Also…

I love to sponsor local events in the community. If there are not enough sponsors, the events would not be possible.
