Last weekend, I had the most productive weekend I’ve had in while. Guess what I did to grow my practice? Absolutely nothing. As business owners, we wear many different hats. We are pulled in all different directions. You could always be doing something to grow your practice. However, it’s so important to take care of yourself. Put yourself first. Relax. Take time for yourself. In my opinion, it makes you better at your job! You aren’t constantly burnt out. You have the drive. That boost of adrenaline to come back and work! We all deserve breaks. This weekend, I challenge you to not check your emails. Turn your phone on DND. And enjoy the weekend. Spend time with your loved ones. You deserve it! “Don’t talk about money” Might be the worst advice we were ever given. Financial literacy isn’t taught in schools. For many, it’s a skill we had to learn on their own. Talking openly about your finances is frowned upon. It’s supposed to be a secret. It’s rude. For many, this was our reality. Never hearing about finances. Being thrown into the real world with no financial experience. Your kids don’t have to learn the same. Teach them young. Help them understand the finances. Teach them about credit. Paying off a credit card. Getting a job. Earning money from allowance. It all helps them overtime. It prepares them for adulthood. It creates good financial habits. Yes, we might not have learned financial literacy at a young age. But you have the power to change that. As a financial rep, I meet with a lot of my client’s kids one on one. Talk about their current financial situation. Their dreams and goals. It allows them to start creating good financial habits! We have the power to make a change.
