Wild man. That’s the nickname I was given years ago. The funny part? I don’t live up to that nickname. (In the way most think...) I don’t go on crazy adventures. I don’t make spontaneous decisions. I wouldn’t say I’m the “life of the party.” I’m quite the opposite. The “wild man” nickname was given to least likely person. And yet the nickname has stuck around through the years. Why? Nicknames aren’t always about who you are. They are about how you grow into yourself. My colleagues see something in me that I didn’t realize. I wouldn’t say I’m a “wild man.” But I would say that once you meet me, I’m a loyal and trustworthy friend who is always trying to make others laugh. Being wild doesn’t always mean loud, risky, or adventurous. It can take many meanings. I’m bold enough to be myself and not change for others. Bold enough to make a statement. I’ve never been real keen on taking photos of myself. Especially not posting those selfies onto the internet. However, when I started on LinkedIn, I wanted to leave my comfort zone. 📌 Share personal stories. 📌 Connect with others on a deeper level. 📌 Post my selfies… Over the past few months, it hasn’t gotten any easier. LOL Posting selfies is still difficult for me. Connecting and sharing stories is easy! 😉 However, do you know why I do it? (Because my assistant says I have too) (KIDDING) 🤣 Because I want to get out of my comfort zone! You won’t make strides if you aren’t willing to take a risk. I’ve done the same thing with networking. Would I love to be at home on my couch? Yes. Would that help me grow my business? No. We all have to step outside our comfort zones once in a while.
