Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I’m passionate about helping my members determine their financial goals. We work together to create a comprehensive plan based on their unique needs.

I serve members in…

Delaware, Marysville, Marion, and Mansfield, Ohio.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

people. I believe God has placed me in this position to impact others, no matter what crossroads they are at. I enjoy working with college-aged people and young adults starting off in the "real world," young married couples just beginning their journey together, families planning for the futures of their children, those approaching retirement, our farming community and small-business owners.

I attended…

Buckeye Valley local schools here in Delaware. I attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where I obtained my undergraduate degree in education. I then completed my master's degree in education at the University of Phoenix, with a focus on curriculum and instruction.

I am very proud of…

completing my Fraternal Insurance Counselor (FIC) and Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow (FICF) designations in my first four years in the business; earning Fraternalist of the Year honors in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021; reaching Century Club in 2014, 2015 and 2016; qualifying for President's Club in 2018, President's Cabinet in 2019 and 2020, and President's Council 2021; and qualifying for MDRT in 2019, 2020 and 2021. I also received Guardian for Good honors in 2019.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was an elementary physical education teacher and varsity softball coach at Marion Pleasant School. I taught for six years before coming to work with Modern Woodmen.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the vision of our organization. I have a heart for people and my community. Modern Woodmen allows me to make a difference right here in Delaware -- not only by supporting members who are trying to reach their financial goals, but also by supporting my community. It has offered me the opportunity to put others first and to give back. It is my passion to make every person I encounter know that with Modern Woodmen I am here from the beginning to the end.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members and walking through all of their life stages hand-in-hand. Whether it's creating a budget, planning for their retirement or protecting their families with life insurance, I feel good knowing I helped make a positive impact on their lives.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

It is so hard to narrow down this to just one event. Over the last 10+ years, I have been so blessed to work with so many wonderful families and businesses, making an impact right here in Delaware. I can't imagine doing anything else!

Also…

I understood the importance of life insurance when I first started my career and completed my first death claim. When I was able to present the life insurance check to the widow, I knew for that brief moment that she felt a weight was lifted. We insure our phones, cars and appliances everyday ... I am very passionate about insuring what is most important to us -- our lives -- and replacing an income that was vital to the family.

at the ballfield, fishing, golfing, running or enjoying a nice, hot cup of coffee.

I’m passionate about…

my family, my faith, running, and the Ohio State Buckeyes! OH-IO

My greatest blessing is…

my family and my relationship with Jesus Christ.

My personal motto is…

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6

My hidden talent is…

I make a delicious sausage gravy and biscuits.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

since I was born at Grady Memorial Hospital. Delaware is a beautiful place to call home.

What I like best about my community is…

the amazing people. It's home. It always has been and always will be! No one is a stranger. People genuinely care for one another and give back to make this community great.

I’m a member of…

Delaware Grace Church, the Grace Family Preschool and Childcare Board, Mainstreet Delaware, NAIFIC and NAIFA.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

hands-on activities where I can see the fruits of my labor, any event that involves my children and allows them to make an impact, events where we work with the homeless community, and volunteer opportunities at the Mobile Market and Common Grounds Free Store and LSS Food Pantry.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

recent, when we had a fun painting event at our local park. Members had the opportunity to become artists for an afternoon. They each left with a beautiful sign to hang in their homes.

Also…

We love our schools and enjoy participating in activities and supporting them whenever possible. From Matching Fund events to service projects, you will find Modern Woodmen members engaged and impacting our local schools and their many programs.

Modern Woodmen members show appreciation for our police officers and firefighters

Last year our youth service club had the idea to purchase goodies to deliver to the police station and firehouse. Once we contacted both places, they were so gracious to schedule a tour for our kiddos. The children had the opportunity to deliver the goodies and personally thank them for their service. The tours were just the perfect addition to our summer fun activities. If you know of a great volunteer activity, let us know. We are always looking for people to say "thank you" to!
