Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I firmly believe that financial wellness is a cornerstone to overall wellness. As a financial representative, I focus on helping individuals, families, and small-businesses plan for their futures through value-based planning so they can achieve their unique goals. I listen, consult, and direct.

I serve members in…

the Inland Empire, including Yucaipa, Calimesa, Beaumont and Banning.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, variable annuities, and investment advisory services.

I enjoy working with…

families, decisive individuals, and people who want to take actionable steps toward their financial goals.

I attended…

San Bernardino Valley College, where I got my associate’s degree. I finished my education at the University of California-Riverside where I got my bachelor's degree in political science and graduated on the dean's list with honors. I also received undergraduate research experience.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a college student and worked as a waitress for 3.5 years at a local, family-owned café in Yucaipa.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of the culture here and the fraternal aspect to the organization. I majored in political science because I wanted to create change. My motivation to create change has stayed the same, and with Modern Woodmen, I have done so in a short amount of time.

The best part of my career is…

providing financial education to people I meet with and the authentic relationship building that happens while getting to know my clients.

“I serve members in the Inland Empire of California. The communities I'm most involved with include Yucaipa, Calimesa, Beaumont and Banning.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my dad, Roy; two sisters, Melanie and Michelle; and my dog, Pongo. My mom, Valerie, passed away from ovarian cancer in 2022. We miss her every day!

In my free time, you can find me…

with my family, whether it's watching TV, camping, hiking or riding our horses. Anything that my family is doing, I'm doing. I also enjoy playing basketball, cooking and reading.

I’m passionate about…

my family, friends and communities.

My personal motto is…

"Your potential is endless."

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life. I am greatly invested in my hometown, as well as the surrounding communities.

What I like best about my community is…

its close-knit, hometown feel. I've been extremely encouraged lately to see the surrounding communities come together and collaborate on community events and mixers.

I’m a member of…

The Unforgettables Foundation, who provides burial assistance and grief services to families who have lost a child.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

Also…

I host an annual Legacy Letter event in honor of my mom, Valerie. Since her passing, I regularly reference the many notes, letters, and cards that she would write me when I need to feel her encouragement and spirit. My Legacy Letter event is a space to encourage others to do the same for those they love.

My second annual Legacy Letter event was absolutely amazing! My mom, Valerie, was a huge believer in thank you cards. Throughout my childhood and adulthood, my mom left me so many random thank you cards, sticky notes, and written words of encouragement. Thankfully, I had the hindsight to save every one of her notes that she left me. On July 13th, 2022, she passed away from Ovarian Cancer. I regularly refer to her notes when I need her, whether it’s for encouragement, a reminder, or to connect to her. I was inspired to encourage others to do the same thing for the loved ones in their lives. Life is so short! Don't forget to love on those in your life while you can. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
