About me

Who I am at and outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Kari; son, Isaac; and my daughters Amelia, Raelyn and Khloe. We're expecting another daughter in February 2024!

I'm passionate about…

serving God, my family and people, in general. Having a purpose is very important to me.

In my free time you'll probably find me…

at my kids' basketball, football or baseball games, spending time with my family, hunting in the hills or camping or fishing on the lake.

My greatest blessing is…

being a husband and a father.

How we make a difference

We feel it’s important to support the communities we serve because…

we want to give back to places we call home and the people who live there. It's better to give than to receive. There are many foundations and causes, but we sometimes don't see the impact at the local level. We feel it's important to improve our communities and focus on making a local impact.

We feel strongly about supporting our communities at a local level. One way we're able to make a positive impact is through Modern Woodmen activities and programs. We especially enjoy:

social and educational opportunities with local Modern Woodmen chapters.

Our philosophy on volunteering is…

it's way more fulfilling to give than it is to receive. We get so much more than we give when we help our communities and our families.

Hillbilly Days 2026… After nearly 40 years of experiencing our local Hillbilly Days Festival in Pikeville, KY, this has by far been the best for me! Not because of the festival itself, but because of Local and National support for OUR local community! Our Home Office invested in our Local Regional Office and sponsored a Dino Roar Tour for our local children! Our Fraternal department went above and beyond with planning, ideas and funding to make this a success! We gave members approximately 150 wristbands for the carnival. We handed out apparel, backpacks, toys, etc, free of charge to hundreds of children at our festival! We gave away power wheels, a yeti cooler, Stanley cups and much more! My favorite comment from the whole event is, “It’s amazing what Modern Woodmen is doing here!” And that’s still not the best part! I am humbled to say we had 15 local MW representatives (not counting their families) give up their time to serve the people and children of our amazing little Eastern KY town! MW creed “There is a destiny that makes us brothers; none goes his way alone; all that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own.” Edwin Markham circa 1939 I’m truly grateful to serve a Fraternal organization that serves MY Hometown!!
