Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to make a living by helping others and our community. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Alaska, California, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, retirement planning, stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and annuities.

I enjoy working with…

individuals, college students, military families and local small-business owners.

I attended…

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, where I earned my bachelor's degree in technical management.

I am very proud of…

my time with Modern Woodmen and my military service, working on aircrafts across the world for nine years.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was in the U.S. Air Force for nine years, working as an aircraft mechanic on B-52, C-5M and C-17A aircrafts.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in how Modern Woodmen supports its members while also giving back to their communities!

The best part of my career is…

establishing a foundation for families, knowing I helped them accomplish the goals they didn't think they could achieve.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I delivered proceeds of a Matching Fund project to a local family in need.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Leigha; my son, Raiden; our dogs, Lily and Dahlia; and our six chickens and two goats.

In my free time, you can find me…

playing rugby or working with my family on our homestead.

I’m passionate about…

my family, learning about self-sufficient living, nutrition and rugby.

My greatest blessing is…

my son, Raiden.

My personal motto is…

Do unto others as you want done unto you.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

since 2021. I moved every two years while I was in the Air Force. When my wife and I moved to Charleston, we knew we had to stay!

What I like best about my community is…

the food and the proximity to both the mountains and the beach!

I’m a member of…

the Summerville Chamber of Commerce, BNI Coastal Network Champions, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Air Force Sargent's Association.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

coaching rugby for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, and being an RA at my church in Hanahan.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

matching a $2,500 donation to a local family whose daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor in early 2023. We partnered with friends of the family to raise over $5,000 to help support the family through such a difficult time.

Estate Planning | Modern Woodmen

As we approach the end of the year, it's the perfect time to reflect, organize and prepare for the future. Estate planning isn’t just for the wealthy – it’s for anyone who wants to protect their loved ones and ensure their wishes are honored. · Review your will. · Update beneficiaries. · Consider trusts and powers of attorney. · Talk to a financial representative. Start the new year with peace of mind. Let's talk about how estate planning can work for you.

The Upstate Chapters 12266 and 17425 have partnered with Isaiah 117 House to donate sensory bags, cosmetic kits, and shoes for children who have been removed from their homes. Isaiah 117 House is changing the way foster care begins. When children are removed from their homes, they are often taken to a child welfare services office to await placement. During this time— which can last from a few hours to several days—many children arrive with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. Isaiah 117 House provides these children with a comforting home-like space where they can wait with loving volunteers who offer clothing, toys, and smiles. This environment allows children to experience care and stability while child welfare staff complete the necessary paperwork and identify a safe, supportive placement. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and be the hands and feet of hope for these children. #FosterCareSupport #ChildrenFirst #HopeForKids #LoveInAction #EveryChildMatters #SafeHomes
