Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

My mission is to help build strong, healthy and happy families. I look forward to connecting with families in my community through our fraternal activities and programs.

I attended…

The Ohio State University. I lived in Morrill Tower (next to the football stadium) as a freshman.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked in health care information technology.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I’m a third-generation Modern Woodmen member. I’ve always respected and valued the organization’s services.

The best part of my career is…

seeing people live out their dreams.

““There’s no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.” – Jill Churchill”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my three children and my jack-of-all-trades husband.

In my free time, you can find me…

cooking, canning, gardening or caring for my chickens.

I’m passionate about…

healthy and natural living.

My greatest blessing is…

living in a small town. I cherish my community every day.

My hidden talent is…

repurposing. My husband and I love making something out of things that would’ve otherwise been discarded.

Modern Woodmen has a long history of participating in parades – including one that took place 100 years ago this month! Modern Woodmen Foresters (member drill teams) from across the country came together in Chicago in June 1925. Each member carried a ceremonial prop known as a parade ax. They wore different uniform colors to denote their camp (chapter). #ModernPioneers

Purchasing life insurance may be one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. And those decisions are better informed with professional guidance😩. Let's connect.

Joseph Cullen Root found inspiration for a new fraternal benefit society during a summer Sunday sermon. He heard a story about the pioneer woodmen who cleared forests to build homes and communities. The story aligned with his vision for an organization that would provide security by clearing families’ financial burdens – not trees. Thus, our name, Modern Woodmen of America, was born. It continues to symbolize our commitment to financial security, family life, and community impact. #ModernPioneers #PioneersForLife #ButterflyEffect
