Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I believe every family deserves financial security, clarity and someone they can trust to guide them toward long-term protection and peace of mind.

I serve members in…

I support members statewide, with dedicated focus on the Pueblo and Cañon City communities.

I enjoy working with…

families, individuals planning for retirement, young adults starting out, mortgage-holders protecting their homes, and anyone who wants to build a more secure financial future.

I attended…

The Ohio State University, majoring in finance. I transferred to DeVry University to get my bachelor’s degree in computer information systems.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

spent over 25 years as an IT project manager, operations director and consultant helping organizations improve processes and better serve their people.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

it allows me to combine financial guidance with meaningful community service — something that aligns perfectly with my values.

The best part of my career is…

combining financial guidance with community service. I make an impact both personally and locally.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I received a call from a member who was diagnosed with cancer and wanted to review their life insurance plan. Their best chance for recovery required relocating to another state for several weeks — something they couldn’t afford. That’s when I shared life-changing news: their Modern Woodmen plan included living benefits they could access to cover temporary relocation and medical expenses. Easing their stress during such a difficult time is exactly why I do this work.

Also…

I love connecting with people, learning their stories, and helping them create financial plans that truly reflect their goals and values.

“Community isn’t something we watch from the sidelines—it’s something we create together one act of service and one connection at a time.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

four grown children: two attend CSU-Pueblo, one works as a nurse in South Carolina, and one is a stay-at-home mom in Virginia, where her husband serves as a Navy pilot. We also have a Bernese mountain dog, Kaiser.

In my free time, you can find me…

gardening, playing pickleball, attending CSU-Pueblo sports events, taking my Jeep off road, or spending time with the people I love.

I’m passionate about…

helping families protect what matters most, building stronger communities, and empowering people with knowledge so they can make confident financial decisions.

My greatest blessing is…

my family — especially the journey of raising my daughters and watching them grow into strong young women.

My personal motto is…

Serve people first, and the community grows stronger.

My hidden talent is…

creating food from scratch, including fresh-baked bread, handmade noodles and batches of limoncello.

Also…

I love being part of people’s lives during important milestones and helping them plan for a secure future.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

since 2020. When COVID hit, I relocated from Ohio to be closer to friends and family.

What I like best about my community is…

the way people show up for one another. Pueblo is full of hardworking families who care about their neighbors, support local sports, and truly value giving back. Once I became involved with Modern Woodmen, everything shifted for me. I joined the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and developed a passion for playing pickleball. Both have helped me get out in the community, meet new people, and become actively involved in the place I now call home.

I’m a member of…

the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and several local volunteer groups.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

supporting local veterans, youth sports programs, community fundraisers and service projects (such as pop-up soup kitchens on Christmas Day), and events such as the Pueblo Chili Festival and the Colorado State Fair.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund programs; Hometown Hero awards; and activities that directly support families, veterans and local schools and organizations.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

watching families come together for Wreaths Across America and seeing how much it meant to honor veterans.

Also…

I love any event where I can connect personally with families and help bring people together for a meaningful cause.
