Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

as a former teacher and coach, I find my purpose in building relationships with my members, educating them, and helping them achieve their financial goals.

I serve members in…

central and southern Wisconsin and the surrounding area.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance and annuities.

I enjoy working with…

individuals and families who want clear, easy-to-understand guidance for their financial planning needs.

I attended…

UW Oshkosh and Ripon College for my undergrad where I served as class senator, and earned my masters at Marian University.

I am very proud of…

my background as a teacher and a coach. Those roles have significantly shaped how I serve my community in this career.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a teacher and coach at Waupun for 2.5 years, a JV and varsity football coach, and volunteered as a middle school basketball coach. During this time, I also got my master’s in business management from Marian University. While attending college I worked for a company called Saputo that makes cheese.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of fraternalism and making an impact through service and our member programs. There's a major focus on community involvement here, including this year’s focus on education. We're also member-owned.

The best part of my career is…

making a meaningful difference by creating relationships with my members.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I earned the trust of members, and we started cultivating a relationship. I also enjoy nurturing young readers through the Birthday Book Club.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my mother, Paula; father, Mike; sister, Ashley; brother in-law, Josh; and nephew, Hudson.

In my free time, you can find me…

supporting local Fox Valley community businesses, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.

I’m passionate about…

my faith, family, golfing, boating and Wisconsin sports.

My greatest blessing is…

my faith, family and the network that supports me personally and professionally.

My personal motto is…

serve others with integrity and put their needs first.

My hidden talent is…

connecting with people from all walks of life. I have a positive attitude in any situation.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life. I grew up right outside Waupun and lived in a small town called Alto. I have been in the Fox Valley area for over six years.

What I like best about my community is…

that it's home! I can go down to Main Street and people will wave and say hi. People genuinely care for one another and give back to make this community great.

I’m a member of…

River Valley's young adult youth group.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

mentoring and tutoring kids, coaching youth sports on the weekends, and anything hands-on where I can see the impact my members and I make.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

helping with an ALS Walk with my managing partner. Seeing how ALS impacted each participant moved me. Listening to their stories and how it impacted them was a privilege.

Birthday Book Club | Modern Woodmen

Our Birthday Book Club program is one step toward building your home library! Each year, member children can receive a free, age-appropriate book for their birthday. Ask me how to sign up your child.

It's 30 days until Tax Day. Are you prepared? This is a great time to review what you’re saving in your IRA. Let’s meet to discuss your retirement goals.

Ready to declutter your finances? Here are five tips to spring clean your budget. 1. Conduct your own expense audit. Go through the last one to three months of expenses and locate potential wasteful spending. 2. Cancel or reduce subscriptions. Ask yourself if there are any you can downgrade. 3. Set spending caps. Set limits on a few categories – like eating out, shopping or coffee runs – to remain flexible. 4. Map out irregular expenses. Put money aside for things like car repairs, gifts, home maintenance and travel to prepare for the future. 5. Set one budget goal per month. Examples include reducing food delivery by $80, paying off a bill or building an emergency cushion.

Did you or your student apply for one of the 2026 Modern Woodmen scholarships? Winners will be notified in April. Best of luck and keep following your dreams!
