Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

Throughout my time in the Army and my career as a firefighter, my driving purpose has always been to serve and protect others. Transitioning into personal finance allows me to continue that mission by helping families and individuals protect what matters most, build financial security, and navigate their futures with confidence.

I serve members in…

Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

I enjoy working with…

families, whether they are just starting out, overcoming financial hurdles, or preparing to cross the finish line to retirement.

I attended…

the University of Louisville.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

served in the U.S. Army for eight years and spent 20 years as a firefighter.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization – not only for how it supports members to reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

seeing my clients progress down their financial path and reach their goals.

“Modern Woodmen membership is about relationships. We take time to get to know you and your needs. Get to know me and how we might connect.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Janelle; stepdaughter, Alexis; her husband, Jesse; their kids, Ellis and Everson; my sons, Austin, Jarret, and Blake; and stepsons, Brady and Cole.

In my free time, you can find me…

spending time outdoors golfing, fishing, boating, watching sports, or hanging out with my family.

I’m passionate about…

enjoying time with my family.

My personal motto is…

be courteous, be kind, and take care of your family.

My hidden talent is…

I am a really good cook.

Also…

as you can see from the picture collage, I have many interests and love involving my family in all of them!

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for the last 25 years.

What I like best about my community is…

it is growing very quickly, but it is retaining the small-town feel.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

being involved with the high school sports teams. I broadcast games on the radio and podcast about the teams.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

Did you know? In 1909, Modern Woodmen opened a tuberculosis sanatorium that served more than 12,000 members. Years later, we provided support to families affected by the polio epidemic. Helping members through uncertain times has been part of who we are for generations. I’m excited to offer Money & Me℠, a free financial literacy program for K-8 students. Once your class completes 3-5 lessons, your classroom is eligible for a $50 donation to use however you choose! The program is: • Prewritten, easy to teach, and tied to learning standards. • Flexibly paced to fit your classroom schedule. • Available at no cost to you or your school. I’m limited in donations this school year. Don’t wait to send me a message if you’re interested or know an educator who might be! I’d love to help bring financial literacy (and a little extra funding) to more local classrooms.

Not sure where to start with life insurance? Here are a few simple questions to consider: • Who depends on your income? • What financial goals are most important to you? • Do you have a plan for the unexpected? • How does coverage fit into your long-term strategy? You don’t need all the answers right now, but asking the right questions is a great first step. Let's start the conversation today.
