Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others as well as their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Paris, Kentucky, my hometown community. I also service all the surrounding counties: Clark, Fayette, Nicholas, Bath, Scott, Fleming and Montgomery.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

everyday working families and retirement-aged individuals.

I attended…

Bourbon County High School.

I am very proud of…

my accomplishments with Modern Woodmen, including the great trips I have earned and was able to attend.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

enjoyed working in the accounting field and retail business.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization -- not only for how it supports members to help them reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

helping families protect their loved ones through life insurance. I feel good knowing I helped make a positive impact on their lives.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I truly understood how important my career is and how it affects the people of my community. My best friend and co-worker, who introduced me to Modern Woodmen, and my manager truly were a great inspiration to me and our community. I have been blessed to be able to help other families protect their loved ones.

Also…

I thank God everyday for giving me this great gift to share with others, teaching them about what Modern Woodmen truly is and how it benefits our future generations and communities.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Randy, my two daughters, Kelly and Hollie, and my son, Dustin.

In my free time, you can find me…

at my daughters' sheep shows and listening to my daughter Kelly perform at various music shows. I also enjoy sitting on the front porch with a glass of sweet iced tea.

I’m passionate about…

my family and friends. I also like to work in my flower garden.

My greatest blessing is…

my family and my health.

My personal motto is…

always remember the Golden Rule! Treat others the way you want to be treated.

My hidden talent is…

I enjoying singing.

Also…

I enjoy the rural area where I live. I like to keep my bird feeders full, and it relaxes me to watch the birds eating while I enjoy my morning coffee.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for basically my entire life.

What I like best about my community is…

the amazing people. It's home. It always has been and always will be! People genuinely care for one another and give back to make this community great.

I’m a member of…

the FFA Bourbon County alumni.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

working with children to watch them learn and grow. I also enjoy working with the seniors in my community.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when we held a fish fry at the Blue Licks State Park for the first time with our chapter. The weather was beautiful, and the fish was pretty amazing as well. People young and old got together and really enjoyed the event.

Also…

I have truly enjoyed being a part of an organization that does so much for its community. We have planted several trees and beautiful flowers at our local Legion Park for all ages to enjoy and planted shrubs around the Bourbon County Ag building and the nursing home when the new parking lot was built. The community of Bourbon County really is lucky to have an organization such as Modern Woodmen well-known in this area.
