Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Marion, Ohio, and surrounding communities like Prospect, Upper Sandusky, Mt. Gilead and others.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

young families, those anticipating retirement, small businesses, and all who need help navigating the process for establishing a road map for their financial futures.

I attended…

Bowling Green State University.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked 35 years for a major appliance manufacturer. Of the 35 years, 28 were spent as an industrial engineer, a role that prepared me well for understanding the importance of budgeting and effective financial planning.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I had been a member for about 15 years. My husband and I became members when our children were very young. The societal beliefs and objectives of Modern Woodmen aligned very well with our beliefs. Knowing the benefits of being a member of a fraternal financial organization only enhanced my desire to pursue a second career with Modern Woodmen.

The best part of my career is…

helping families, singles, people approaching retirement and those already retired navigate the financial needs of their lives. It can be protection, savings, college planning, retirement planning or just consoling someone who had to say goodbye to a loved one. It is a blessing and privilege for me to help people feel more secure in their financial futures.

“My personal motto is to live a life that reflects the grace that has been extended to me.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, David; our son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Dava; our daughter, Kelsey; and my step-daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Nate. We have three grandchildren, too.

In my free time, you can find me…

busy with church activities, mentoring youths in the community, flower gardening, bicycling, doting on our dog, or spending time with our family and extended family.

I’m passionate about…

my Lord, Jesus Christ, my family and my country. I treasure the freedoms we have and the blessings God has given us, taking neither for granted.

My greatest blessing is…

being a wife, mother, and grandmother and living in a free country with God over all!

My personal motto is…

to live a life that reflects the grace that has been extended to me.

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

over 35 years.

I’m a member of…

Marion First Church of the Nazarene, Voice of Hope Pregnancy and Family Services Center governing board, and the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center governing board.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

those that involve helping youths, especially at-risk young people. I also enjoy promoting options for young families and singles to become involved with giving back to our community.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund events and local service projects that support youth programs, nonprofit endeavors and individual needs. I also enjoy delivering our free youth educational programs to many teachers, preschools and clubs.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

helping a wife and mother raise money through concession stand sales to purchase a service dog. She suffered a brainstem stroke and is confined to a wheelchair, but she has miraculously improved beyond all doctors' expectations. She was overwhelmed with emotion when she found out how Modern Woodmen was going to help.
