Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others as well as their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Arizona and via Zoom across the country!

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

individuals, families, business owners and nonprofits.

I attended…

Valparaiso University and received a bachelor's degree in psychology and criminology.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked in property and casualty insurance and the mortgage industry. These experiences gave me great knowledge and have allowed me to help my clients budget properly to meet their goals. All while giving them the professionalism and customer service they deserve.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of the benefits offered as a fraternal financial services provider. Giving back has always been close to my heart. Being able to encourage and support my community and my members gives me great joy.

The best part of my career is…

helping people meet their goals. It has been incredibly fulfilling to help clients set a goal, give them the tools and guidance they need, and then see it come to fruition! Their happiness is contagious and I'm so proud to be a part of that journey.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I've been able to present large donations for fundraisers in my community! I've donated funds to many local nonprofits and community organizations, such as Hobart FOP, The Caring Place, Worthy Women Recovery Home and our local food pantry, just to name a few.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Bobby, and daughters, Hailey and Maggie. Oh, and my rambunctious dog, Scout.

In my free time, you can find me…

on the sidelines cheering for my kids at various martial arts or running events. In the summer you will often find us soaking up the sun at our camper or cruising the lake.

I’m passionate about…

being a positive influence on other people's lives. After beating cancer, I've realized my perspective on many things has changed. I strive to be my best. What is most important to me is knowing I'm leaving a lasting positive impact on those around me.

My greatest blessing is…

my family, my health, and my faith. These three are at the very core of my being and influence a great deal of who I am and the decisions I make.

My personal motto is…

we are a TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More! This is our family moto. We can't all do every task or participate in every event, but we can all chip in as a part of a team and accomplish a lot more. We encourage, uplift and are thankful for each other, and it makes us a better team as a whole.

My local community impact

What I like best about my community is…

the amazing people who come together to support one other. Everyone is welcoming and encouraging. People are proud to live here, and they genuinely care for one another.

I’m a member of…

many local chambers, including the Anthem Area Chamber of Commerce. I enjoy doing many service projects and volunteering with these and other local nonprofit groups such as Youth for Troops and Anthem Rotary.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

anything supporting women and children or civil servants. For example, I do a lot with the local women's shelter, such as delivering clothing or hygiene products for women and children temporarily displaced from their homes, often due to violence. I also support many police and fire departments as they do so much to protect and serve our community.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

the educational event and Women's Empowerment Night. Community volunteers taught women self-defense cand how to change a tire. The whole night was full of fun and laughter while we learned valuable lessons to encourage independence for women of all ages. Money was raised to support the Worthy Women Recovery Home.

Pajama Jams.

Pajama Jams started out as a service project for The Caring Place. The idea was to deliver pajamas for Christmas to 30 women and children residing at the shelter. We also sang Christmas carols. After receiving an outpouring of support from other local community members and businesses, we were able to provide not only pajamas but full hygiene baskets to each family, and at least one toy for every child, with additional toys, games, clothing, hygiene supplies and more donated to The Caring Place for future residents. It felt amazing to touch so many lives and I can't thank my local members enough for contributing their time and resources to make this event a success.
