Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I do what I do because I have the unique opportunity to make a positive difference in a family's life. I want to help members ensure there's money whether they live too long or not long enough. I love to see dreams and hopes live for generations to come.

I serve members in…

Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, small businesses and those saving for retirement.

I attended…

Shelton State College.

I am very proud of…

being a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, National Association of Financial and Insurance Advisors (NAFIA) and a President's Club or Cabinet for 15 years.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was an agency manager with Life Insurance Company of Georgia for 11 years in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

Modern Woodmen is a family-oriented organization that truly cares about members, their families and their representatives. They are truly my extended family.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I had the privilege of delivering my first claim check to a family. The feeling of satisfaction was overwhelming and has continued with me for 33 years.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Teresa; we've been married for 35 years. We have a son and daughter, Jason and Ashley. They are both married, and we have six grandchildren.

In my free time, you can find me…

fishing, playing golf and spending time with my family.

I’m passionate about…

making a difference in someone's life every day, playing drums and singing at church, and getting family together.

My greatest blessing is…

my relationship with Christ and family.

My personal motto is…

to make a positive difference in somebody's life today and help make someone's life a little lighter. (I love to laugh!)

My hidden talent is…

I'm a pretty good cook. And I'm a trumpet player who plays drums and sings -- but not at the same time!

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

in Metro Atlanta for 25 years. We've enjoyed our new home in Roopville, Georgia, for the last seven months.

What I like best about my community is…

my church, and how many things there are to do.

I’m a member of…

the Roopville Road Baptist Church in Roopville, Georgia, and the National Association of Financial Insurance Advisors.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

ministry activities in and outside of church.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when a member had a double lung transplant, we put on a concert and raised enough money to offset the member's doctor bills.

Also…

helping members use our Fraternal Aid Fund benefit to keep valuable life insurance going through a tough time.

Roopville Festival

We had an awesome time at the Roopville, Georgia, Homecoming Festival on Sept. 21, 2019. It was a pleasure to meet dozens of new friends. Many signed up for our door prize drawing. Congrats to Cindy W. of Roopville, who won the adult prize, and Collin P. of Woodland, Alabama, who won the kid prize. We gave out great info about Modern Woodmen, our products and our fraternal opportunities. Thanks also to my wife, Teresa, for helping out -- especially with the kids. They love her!
