Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I’m passionate about helping my members determine their financial goals. We work together to create a plan based on their unique needs.

I serve members in…

Wisconsin and Texas.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities and mutual funds.

I enjoy working with…

families with members ages 25-45 and mature clients (age 50 and older). In addition, I enjoy working with small- to medium-sized businesses, due to my past experience as a Certified Public Accountant.

I attended…

Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, where I majored in accountancy.

I am very proud of…

the professional consistency I've shown during my career in business and the financial services industry.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked in various positions using my Certified Public Accounting license.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

of the organization's long history of service to the communities where we live, work and play.

The best part of my career is…

helping families and small-business owners plan and reach their financial goals.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

my members reached out to me after a loved one passed away and they knew they would be OK financially for years to come because of the plans we'd put in place.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Gretchen, my daughter, Kat, and my son, Colton.

In my free time, you can find me…

volunteering and playing golf.

I’m passionate about…

making a difference in the community where I live, work and play.

My greatest blessing is…

my desire to help others in my community.

My personal motto is…

"If you help enough other people get what they want, you'll get what you want."

My hidden talent is…

I can memorize numbers and statistics just glancing at them.

Community impact

In the community

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for more than 12 years.

What I like best about my community is…

the people who care about a cause and make this a great place to live and raise a family.

I’m a member of…

the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and currently serve as president of the Ambassadors.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

Middle school scoreboard

We planned with the middle school parent group to sell concessions at indoor sporting activities. The goal was to raise money for a new scoreboard and accompanying technology to last 30-40 years. A Modern Woodmen Matching Funds project made this goal a success.

Did you know Modern Woodmen members had their own version of Memorial Day? In the late 1800s, Modern Woodmen camps (now chapters) set aside a special day – typically the first Sunday in June – to honor members who had passed away. This tradition is believed to have begun in 1890 in Dubuque, Iowa, before spreading to camps across the country. Many chapters continue this tradition today. These remembrance days were intentionally held on a different date so members could also fully observe the national Memorial Day – a time dedicated to honoring and remembering the servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Trees are a lot like retirement accounts. After the initial planting, they need love and attention. After planting a seed for retirement, it's vital to keep watering it. Let's meet to see if your retirement is growing as expected.
