Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a letter carrier for 30 years, then I started my own bookkeeping and tax business for 5 years.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I like the camaraderie, the aspects of fraternalism - giving back in our community. I helped a non-profit with their bookkeeping in the past, so I was able to apply my experience with them over here.

The best part of my career is…

still being out in the community like I was as a letter carrier for 30 years - just in a different context!

A favorite moment in my career was when…

through our fraternal activities I've been able to help significantly - we've helped a daycare, a teacher with her wish list, Paws and Cause, and so much more. I also helped a family who was previously denied life insurance get insured.

At Modern Woodmen, our brand colors tell a story. In our early days, members would have jewelry decorated with red (representing life, action), white (pure intentions) or green (eternal life) enamel. Today, our official colors are blue and green, often depicted through sky and land imagery. This expresses our rural roots, while conveying growth and a positive future.
