Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others as well as their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

started a career in accounting at an early age. I was the secretary treasurer of BRJ Paving Incorporated for 15 years - a woman-owned site construction company.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization, not only for how it supports members to help them reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members. whether it's planning for their retirement or protecting their families with life insurance, I feel good knowing I helped make a positive impact on their lives.

I have lived in my community…

the past 20 years.

What I like best about my community is…

no one is a stranger. Our home is just outside the city limits, but within minutes of the city for a little country living.

I’m a member of…

Rotary Club of Mansfield, Common Ground Organization, various City of Mansfield fundraisers and volunteer projects.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

anytime I can help children in our community, whether through school supplies drives, food drives or holidays events. Our community is tightknit, and we are always looking to see how we can help.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

enjoying social and educational opportunities with my local Modern Woodmen chapter.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

any time we present a Hometown Hero award for individuals that make an impact on our community.
